Bizarre cashmere jumper advert with model wrapped up in rope confuses eBay shoppers – with some joking it's 'secretly an ad for bondage'

But now one eBay seller has thoroughly confused shoppers after putting a luxury cashmere jumper on sale alongside a photo of a model wrapped up in rope.

The second-hand pink knit – made by luxury Scottish cashmere brand Brora – features a cowl neck detail and is described as being in "impeccable condition".

But if the fact that the bargain £12 jumper is "luxuriously warm and soft" wasn't enough to convince you snap it up ASAP, the savvy seller also included a bizarre image of a woman modelling the jumper.

And for reasons we can't quite understand, the model has rope wrapped around her neck, torso and arms in the out-of-place image.

On the plus side, there's no denying the cashmere knit sure looks snug.

Unsurprisingly, shoppers have been left equally baffled by the eBay advert.

Taking to Mumsnet to express their confusion, one user wrote: "WTF were they thinking? The rest of the photos are normal pictures of the jumper, what possessed them to put that one on?"

Another joked: "Well obviously you will need to purchase a boat to enable you to wear it properly… or you won't be able to organise your sails!"

Meanwhile, a third joked: "Is this secretly an ad for rope bondage services?"

Turns out, the baffling image first appeared the front cover of German magazine Psychologie Heute back in 2013.

As for how the seller managed to spot their old knit in an obscure magazine, you have to admit, it's quite impressive.
