Adidas and TfL launch trainer collaboration that comes with free £80 Oyster card

Sportswear giant Adidas and Transport for London are releasing three limited edition shoes – and shoppers who buy them will also get a free Oyster Card loaded with £80.

The collaboration marks the 15th anniversary of the Oyster Card and is aimed at uniting Londoners.

The ‘Oyster Club pack’ collection will feature three classic Adidas trainers styles in the to choose from – ZX 500 RM, Continental 80 and Temper Run .

Only 1500 pairs are set to go on sale from October 27 and each will cost £80. Fans wanting to snap up a pair will have to head down to the Adidas Originals stores in London at Fouberts Place and Hanbury Street when they go on sale.

Each shoe features special design details that tell of TFL’s rich heritage and will also come with a leather Oyster card holder and bespoke packaging inspired by vintage underground posters.

Speaking about the collaboration Gavin Thomson, SVP Region West Europe at Adidas said: “London is a city bubbling with creativity from a population constantly moving forwards. TfL and the Underground network make that possible.

Graeme Craig, Director of Commercial Development at TfL added: “The Tube, its roundel and the Oyster card are all iconic symbols of London and this partnership shows how two world-renowned brands can work together to produce something truly original.

"Collaborations like this help provide vital funds that we invest in modernising the transport network for the benefit of all of our customers.”

1500 pairs will be available to buy from October 27 at the adidas Originals stores in London (Fouberts Place and Hanbury Street) and from select retailers.
