Woops: Penn Badgley, 33, accidentally let slip during an interview with Entertainment Weekly that his hit Netflix show You will return for a third season
The actor made the embarrassing slip-up during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
As he discussed a female serial killer who is unmasked in season two, Penn accidentally talked about her role in the ‘third season’ before adding ‘oh God’.
He said: ‘She doesn’t appear to be the same kind of person. She doesn’t appear to be the same kind of predator.
‘She doesn’t appear to be the same kind of… you know, dare I say, in the third season – oh, god!’

Penn then slapped his hands on his head as interviewer Lauren Zima pressed him to reveal more.
The actor insisted: ‘I literally know nothing about the third season.’
Lauren then replied: ‘Are we going to get a third season?’
‘Technically I can’t… I mean, like, unofficially?’ he added, nodding his head as he did so.
Earlier this month, the trailer for season 2 of You showed Joe – who is going by the name of Will Bettelheim – arriving in Los Angeles and even falling for someone new: an aspiring chef named Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti).
Things seem to be getting hot and heavy between the two when his ex-girlfriend Candace Stone (Ambyr Childers) shows up in Southern California seemingly following Joe.
In the season 1 final, it was revealed that Candace was not actually dead after she was thought to have been murdered by Joe.

However he did kill current girlfriend Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail) at the conclusion of the season.

It is there where he comes across Love – who is described as ‘an aspiring chef working as a produce manager in a high-end grocery store’ – at the market.
Moving on: Earlier this month, the trailer for season 2 of You showed Joe arriving in Los Angeles and falling for someone new: an aspiring chef named Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti)
A previous press release from Netflix described the character saying: ‘Love is uninterested in the world of social media, branding and self-promotion, focused instead on leading an interesting life.
‘She is also tending to a deep grief — and when she meets Joe Goldberg, she senses a shared knowledge of profound, life-changing loss.’
The two begin a romance but things turn as his ex shows up. Joe queries: ‘What do you want Candace?’
Seemingly referring to the murder of Beck, she replies: ‘You did it again, didn’t you?’
There are several interesting scenes shown including Joe with blood on his hands in a bathtub and Candace glaring at him at a funeral.
Perhaps the most poignant thing said in the trailer was a voiceover which heard Candace say: ‘If he loves you that’s the most dangerous thing.’
