Wimbledon 2019: Pharrell Williams flouts traditional clothing guidelines in a red hoodie and frayed khaki shorts as he leads the males stars at the glitzy sporting event

There is no official dress code for spectators of the tennis event but most use the occasion to don impressive ensembles.

Yet Pharrell Williams opted to flout the traditional smart casual clothing guidelines as he strolled into the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on day 12 of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships on Saturday.

The Happy singer, 46, went for an unconventional look in a bright red hoodie emblazoned with the words ‘Ye Must Be Born Again’ teamed with khaki shorts that featured a frayed hemline.

Continuing his nonchalant outfit, he covered his head with a navy blue cap and sauntered along in black trainers and olive green socks.

Bringing the bling, the singer and producer dazzled with two large diamond stud earrings and a hint of his sparkling gold chain could be glimpsed.

Dressing to impress for the day was Aidan Turner, looking incredibly sharp; he wore a steely blue double-breasted suit and a pin-striped shirt, with a blue and white tie.

Showing off his new beard – having wrapped up his stint portraying the cleaner-cut Ross Poldark on the BBC historical drama series that made him a household name – he continued the trend with dark shades, whipping them off for a few snaps.

Cliff Richard – a Wimbledon stalwart – arrived aptly dressed in a velvet purple blazer.

He added a powder pink shrit, striped tie, black slacks and shiny loafers to the ensemble, stopping to sign an autograph for a fan.

Michael Douglas brought Hollywood to SW19 as he attended alongside his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and son Dylan Douglas.

The actor appeared in high spirits as he styled up stone toned suit and crisp white shirt and accessorised with a white panama hat that was decorated with a black ribbon.

Hollywood star Catherine, 49, oozed glamour in a patterned blue dress which was cinched at the waist with a belted tie as she stepped out with her son, 18.

Dylan, 18, paired a pastel blue and white striped shirt with baby blue chinos and navy blue loafers.

The Royals finally put feud rumours to rest as they sat side by side and giggled as they watched the game.

After nine months of continuous rumours about the state of their relationship, Meghan and Kate seemed to be getting on famously as they chatted and smiled in the Royal Box, after taking their seats to watch Meghan’s good friend Serena take on Romania’s Simona.

For their second joint appearance in a week, after attending a charity polo match on Wednesday, they were joined in the royal box by Kate’s younger sister, Pippa, who sat in a prime spot alongside Meghan.

Kate made her way to the grounds ahead of Meghan this morning, to attend a lunch for club members and former champions in her role as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club before the game.

A-list family: Catherine and son Dylan Douglas, 18, strutted into Wimbledon for the big finale

It’s the second time in a week that Meghan’s come along to see her friend play, although her last visit caused controversy, after bodyguards told fans not to take pictures of her, and she flouted rules by wearing jeans in a members’ only area.

The controversy came just days after Meghan and Harry faced a public backlash for insisting on keeping their son Archie’s christening completely private, and refusing to reveal the names of his godparents.

Not only does today’s outing with Kate give Harry’s wife a chance for a less controversial Wimbledon outing, but it also helps the pair put paid to rumours of a feud with her sister-in-law, which have swirled continuously since last November.
