Victoria Beckham breaks her silence after Spice Girls announce UK tour

She’s refused to be a part of one of the most hotly-anticipated pop tours in recent years.

And now Victoria Beckham has broken her silence about not joining band mates Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Mel C on their UK tour.

In a statement released as part of the Spice Girls reunion announcement, Victoria revealed just how dearly she regards her time as part of the chart-topping girl band.

“Being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish my girls so much love and fun as they go back on tour,” she said.

“I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time!”

While Victoria failed to address the reason behind her decision not to join the Spice World UK tour, the press release explains that it is due to the fashion designer’s work commitments.

“Because of her business commitments Victoria won’t be joining the girls on tour,” the statement read.

“But will always be one of the Spice Girls and remains aligned with Emma, Mel B, Melanie C and Geri in preserving their unique legacy.”

Mel B elaborated on Victoria’s decision during Monday’s episode of Loose Women.

“It’s just the four us that’s fully confirmed,” she explained.

“But you know, Vic [Victoria Beckham] might join us at some point. I hope so. I think it would be a shame if she didn’t, do you know what I mean?”

She continued: “I don’t know, let’s ask her. She’s got a full-on life with all of her work commitments and her fashion and her kids.

“She’s just kind of not committing just yet. I’m hoping it’s going to change, but definitely us four.”

Meanwhile, the remaining four members of the iconic girl group announced their excitement over their decision to reunite for a series of concerts.

Emma said: “It’s time to spice things up all over again!!!!! I can’t wait to perform to our forever supporting fans and a whole new spice generation! Love you all!”

Mel B commented: “I’ve said it sooo many times I’m beside myself it’s actually happening yipppeeee. I’m now properly screaming it from every rooftop – me and my girls will see you all on stage!!”

Mel C said: “Reminiscing with the girls about how much fun we had, made me feel like it was the right time to do it all over again!"

Geri added: “I am so excited, together we celebrate girl power with our fans and the next generation and everyone is welcome! Hold tight it’s gonna be fun xx."
