TV BAFTAs 2020: Bruno Tonioli shows off a VERY different look as he sports new silver locks while accepting Strictly Come Dancing’s award
Strictly’s Bruno Tonioli looked quite different when he appeared via Zoom at the BAFTA Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards on Friday.
The choreographer, 64, sported silver locks as he joined fellow judges Craig Revel-Horwood, Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse, as well as co-hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman to accept the show’s Entertainment Programme award.
Bruno appeared from his LA home to accept the prize, amid reports he is not set to appear in the upcoming series due to travel concerns around the coronavirus crisis.
New me! Bruno Tonioli shows off a VERY different look as he sported silver locks while accepting Strictly Come Dancing’s award at the 2020 TV BAFTA Awards on Friday (pictured right in 2019)
After the win, Tess gushed: ‘Thank you so much BAFTA this is such an honour it’s the second time we’ve won this award, and it’s for the whole team who worked so hard.’
Claudia then added: ‘To everyone at the BBC, huge thanks to our fantastic executive poducer, and I’ve just got to mention them, no one has judges like us.’
Launching a confetti cannon, Craig also gushed: ‘Ty darlings and thanks to you too Tess and Claudia, can I say ladies you too are simply fabulous.’
While Shirley and Motsi also offered their own thanks, with Bruno saying: ‘The biggest thank you goes to all of you our viewers, I tell you without you you will not be here, and I really hope to keep you entertained and happy for many years to come.’
Delighted: Bruno joined judges Craig Revel-Horwood, Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse, as well as co-hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman to accept the Entertainment Programme award
Gorgeous: Host Tess Daly (left) and judge Motsi Mabuse (right) also made a glamorous appearance to accept the award, the second year in a row Strictly has won
Fans were besides themselves after seeing Bruno’s new look, with some taking to Twitter to gush about the judge and call him a silver fox.
One viewer wrote in delight: ‘Wow @BrunoTonioli looked fantastic (as always) on tonight’s @BAFTA awards. Loving the hair!’
Referring to his new look, another added: ‘I prefer it silver; Bruno, you look super sexy and distinguished.’

Friday saw the first ever virtual British Academy of Film and Television Awards broadcast on the BBC as the ceremony adapted to COVID-19 precautions.
Presenters such as Daisy Edgar-Jones, Paul Mescal, and Stacey Dooley lined up – at a 2 metre distance – to join host of the evening Richard Ayoade on stage.
The broadcast was filmed in a studio at Television Centre in West London, and was without the ‘vibe’ of a live audience.
Stars up for gongs were beamed into the studio from their homes, via Zoom, with some dressed up and others dressed down.
