Toni Garrn SPLITS from Alex Pettyfer: Model and actor make the ‘difficult decision’ to divorce – months after tying the knot for a second time

Toni Garrn has announced she has split from her husband Alex Pettyfer.

The German model, 30, took to social media on Saturday to share the news, admitting it was a ‘very difficult’ decision for the couple of five years.

Since tying the knot in 2020 and meeting two years prior, the couple have also become parents to daughter Luca Malaika, who is set to turn two in June.

While they also decided to marry for a second time in 2022, saying I Do in front of their little one. 

Revealing the news, Toni shared to her 4.6M Instagram followers: ‘Alex and I have made the difficult decision to divorce.’

Adding: ‘We will continue our relationship as friends and co-parents to our angel, Luca. Please respect our privacy during this sensitive time.’

While Alex did not comment publicly, he shared a picture of the couple’s daughter Luca on his Instagram Stories as they enjoyed some time together at the park.

He captioned the photo: ‘Happiness.’

Mail Online has contacted representatives for Toni and Alex for further comment. 

Toni and Alex were first linked in 2019 when they attended Elton John’s Oscar party together, but did not confirm their romance until later in the year.

The couple later worked together on the film Warning, alongside Alex’s father Richard Pettyfer, Rupert Everett, Thomas Jane, Alice Eve and Annabelle Wallis.

It comes after Toni and Magic Mike star Alex married again in 2022 at a second ceremony on the Greek island of Paros.

They had been holidaying with their daughter Luca and Toni revealed in July that she and Alex said ‘I do’ once again at a beach-front ceremony.

Sharing a short clip of the pair on Instagram, Toni wrote: ‘Yesterday felt like the most beautiful dream. Collecting all pictures.. stay tuned.’

Toni wore an elegant backless white wedding dress with a floor-length veil pinned on to her blonde hair.

The pair first said I do in an intimate ceremony in Toni’s hometown of Hamburg in November 2020.

They tied the knot in her hometown of Hamburg in Germany 10 months after their Christmas engagement.

Following the ceremony, the couple took to Instagram to share their first social media post as newlyweds.

Alongside a snap of the pair kissing, Toni penned ‘Now you really get to call me wifey ❤️’, whilst Alex wrote ‘Mr & Mrs Pettyfer.’

Alex asked for the beauty’s hand in marriage after just 10 months of dating, marking the third time he has proposed to one of his girlfriends.

While he popped the question on Christmas Eve, the lovebirds waited to announce the news on New Year’s Eve.

The couple shared a photo taken just after the proposal, with Toni exclaiming ‘I still can’t believe it’, while Alex added ‘Ok now for real the last throwback to 2019. Onto 2020 as wifey.’

Days later, she shared a closer snap of her dazzling diamond ring.

Alongside the snap she penned: ‘Christmas Eve the love of my life surprised me on his knees asking me to be his forever.

‘He changed my life the day we met and showed me what love really is – so yes I cannot wait to spend every day (well almost) of my life with you @alexpettyfer.’

Toni rose to prominence in the fashion industry after signing an exclusive contract with Calvin Klein in 2008, having made her debut for the designer in their Spring/Summer 2008 runway show in New York at the age of 15.

She went on to feature in their advertising campaign before walking again exclusively for the brand the following year.

In the 2009 seasons she walked in more than 60 shows for other well known fashion houses including Stella McCartney, Dior, Chanel, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana and Micheal Kors among others.  

While she is also known for strutting down the runway as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, walking her first catwalk for the underwear brand in 2011.

She ranked in 20th place in the Top 50 Models Women list on international modelling site models.com in 2012.

The fashionista released her own line of jeans after collaborating with German denim label Closed in 2014.

She has appeared in a variety of Vogue magazines published around the world, as well as Muse, Glamour and Harper’s Bazaar in America, Italy’s Marie-Claire, i-D and many more.

Toni also turned her hand to acting, playing the role of Reeva Steenkamp in the 2017 LifeTime movie Oscar Pistorius: Blade Runner Killer.

Meanwhile, British-born Alex made his professional acting debut in Tom Brown’s Schooldays as lead character Tom Brown.

He was then cast in June that year as teenage MI6 spy Alex Ryder in the film Stormbreaker.  

He next appeared in 2008 flick Wild Child, starring alongside Emma Roberts.

Alex went on to work on a number of other film projects, including 2011’s Beastly and I Am Number Four.

In 2018 he appeared as journalist Stephen Underwood who learned of the horrendous murder of 22,000 Poles under Stalin’s instructions in post–World War II thriller The Last Witness.

The next year, in 2019, he was cast in the main role of Brody in the Netflix science fiction miniseries The I-Land.
