The Royal Family "Won't Like" Kristen Stewart's Princess Diana Movie

If we’ve learned one thing about the royal family, it’s that they don’t like being depicted in books. Or TV shows. Or movies. Basically, they don’t want you to write anything or make anything about them. Unless, it’s overwhelmingly positive, but that hasn’t been the trend lately. Kristen Stewart’s playing the late Princess Diana in the upcoming movie, Spencer. The first photo of K Stew in the iconic role is… shocking. I mean, the resemblance is wild! She looks just like Princess Di. Obvs, we can’t wait to see the movie, but the royal family isn’t pleased that Spencer is being made.

“They won’t like it, but they would have expected it. It is the truth,” journalist Robert Jobson told Us Weekly about the royal family’s reaction to the film. Robert knew Diana personally before her tragic death in 1997. “It’s going to be 25 years in 2022, since she died… I’m 56 now. I was kinda a young man covering the story at the time, but [I] knew her as a person,” he explained.

According to Robert, there’s no way that the royal family won’t have a problem with the biopic. “It’s inevitable” that “the royals won’t like [Spencer] at all,” he added.

Kristen talked about playing Diana in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel last year and said that she relates to the late princess. “I feel sort of the same way about her, and it happened really quickly,” she explained. “I didn’t grow up with her maybe in the same way. I was really young when she passed away… it’s hard not to feel protective over her.”
