I spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about how to dress “for the holidays.” I know the move is usually to level up the embellishments and textures; Sequins, golds, maybe a velvet blazer or two. Then again, I also try to actively fight against classic holiday fashion tropes — why can’t Christmas also be a time for a minimal, structured black jacket? Throughout this never-ending holiday dressing existential crisis, I have to contend with the fact that quality plus-size holiday clothing options feel few and far between, even when I’m not being picky.
Enter the new Jason Wu x ELOQUII holiday collaboration, a 13-piece plus-size collection that has elements of both traditional holiday dressing and modern practicality. It’s the holidays on a hanger, but most of the pieces still feel like you could wear them all winter long.
“It was our goal to marry timeless grace with glamorous sensibility and bring about a standout collection for her this season,” Wu tells InStyle. “Holiday dressing options for women 14+ have not been readily available in the past and I wanted to make sure that the pieces within the collection fit every style aesthetic for any occasion.”
As a designer, Wu is known for his attention to structure, quality, and design, and his influence certainly shows in this collection — from the Jason Wu X ELOQUII Tux Blazer to the Jason Wu X ELOQUII Sequin Wrap Gown to the Jason Wu X ELOQUII Sweetheart Sheath Dress, each piece definitely says “holiday” but could theoretically be worked into a day-to-day wardrobe. OK, perhaps not the sequined dress — but maybe?

“Jason’s design philosophy in creating beautiful, innovative, feminine clothing to empower women aligns with that of our steadfast philosophy at ELOQUII,” says the brand’s creative director, Jodi Arnold. “Fusing his design approach with our detailed, technical fit was the perfect marriage to provide our customer with a luxurious collection at an approachable price point.”
“We designed the Jason Wu x ELOQUII to not only work for holiday events, but can effortlessly be worked into her everyday wardrobe while consistently making a style statement,” Wu says. “My favorite piece in the collection would have to be the Sweetheart Neckline Dress—it is inspired by the 1950’s and Sophia Loren. That piece paired with a great heel and red lip is the perfect holiday outfit.”
