Taylor Swift is gaining a “Reputation” for her political opinions.
The 28-year-old superstar waded into politics again Wednesday, encouraging crowds to “get out and vote” in the midterm elections during her “artist of the year” acceptance speech at the American Music Awards.
“This award and every single award given out tonight were voted on by the people,” said the singer. “And you know what else is voted on by the people is the midterm elections on Nov. 6. Get out and vote. I love you guys!”
While the Grammy winner has generally stayed out of politics, she broke her silence Sunday to endorse Tennessee Democrats Phil Bredesen and Rep. Jim Cooper running in their Senate and House races respectively.
The comment led President Trump to say he now liked Swifts music “25 percent” less.
The “Look What You Made Me Do” singer’s post, however, may have spurred a spike in voter registration.
Swift, who was dressed in a sparkly silver dress and thigh-high boots, took home “favorite pop/rock album” for “Reputation” and “favorite tour” along with “artist of the year” Wednesday — breaking the record for the most AMAs won by a woman, according to People Magazine.
