Tamron Hall made sure to support her friend and former NBC co-host Al Roker on Thursday night.
“Smiling ear to ear tonight after seeing @AlRoker light up the stage in @WaitressMusical!!” she captioned a happy snapshot from the stage. “Bravo to the entire cast. What a show and yes Mr. Roker sings!!!! True #icon. Blessed to know you sir.”
Hall, who co-hosted “Today’s Take” with Roker, left the network in February 2017 to make way for Megyn Kelly in a controversial shake-up.
Shortly after her exit, Hall, 48, explained that her job never defined her identity adding, “It doesn’t determine what I do… how I treat people. I’m going to always look you in the face and say, ‘Thank you’ and ‘Please’ – and if you make me mad, a good cuss word – but in the end, a title can’t define you.”
Earlier this week, just one year after Kelly’s show “Megyn Kelly Today” debuted she was let go from NBC for defending blackface on national television. She later apologized to her staff and to the nation for her remarks – but it wasn’t enough to save her job.
While Kelly’s exit will leave an open slot, don’t count on Hall to return to NBC. She’s developing a daytime talk show for ABC.
