Tamera Mowry and Adam Housley‘s 18-year-old niece, Alaina Housley, died during the shooting at Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, California.

On Thursday, The Real host issued the following statement to People:
“Our hearts are broken. We just learned that our niece Alaina was one of the victims of last night’s shooting at Borderline bar in Thousand Oaks… Alaina was an incredible young woman with so much life ahead of her and we are devastated that her life was cut short in this manner. We thank everyone for your prayers and ask for privacy at this time.”
The victim’s uncle shared the following tribute on his Instagram page:

Reportedly, the Pepperdine student was at the bar with friends when a gunman opened fire. At least 12 people were killed in the incident.
As we reported, prior to their confirmation, Tamera and Adam searched for their niece, whose Apple iPhone and watch placed her location at the bar.
The venue was reportedly hosting a college night for country music fans.
