‘She’s glamorous and loves the show too’: Strictly bosses are ‘desperate to sign up Michelle Keegan for this year’s series following her departure from Our Girl’
She recently announced her plans to leave BBC drama, Our Girl, after four seasons playing Georgie Lane.
Now Michelle Keegan is hotly tipped to join the Strictly Come Dancing line up, with show bosses placing her at the top of their wish list.
The actress, 32, would be following in the footsteps of her husband Mark Wright, 33, who in 2014 made it all the way to the final of the show.

According to The Sun, the beauty is the ‘number one target’ for the next series.
A show source told the publication: ‘Michelle ticks all the boxes. She’s glamorous, hugely popular and loves the show too. Producers are desperate to try and sign her up.
‘They know that getting her to agree would be a massive coup and are hoping she will do it.’
They also revealed she had wanted to join back when she was on Coronation Street but the ITV and BBC rivalry had prevented her from taking the leap.

They continued by explaining how now would be the perfect time for her to sign up.
They said: ‘She’s been spending the last few weeks self-isolating at home with Mark so when things can go back to normal, she will be looking to throw herself into new challenges. They don’t come much bigger than Strictly’

However, despite the bosses’ apparent aim to score the star, she has previously revealed that doing the show would not be for her.

This year Strictly has already been affected by the coronavirus crisis, with rumours swirling that show bosses are struggling to sign up celebs to take part.
However, Strictly pro Anton du Beke debunked this when appearing on The Steph Show last week and revealing: ‘They’re carrying on with it for now, the whole pre production will be going on as normal’

The series this year has already been rocked after favourites Kevin Clifton and AJ Pritchard both quit within weeks of each other.
A source told The Sun that production for the new series of Strictly has been placed on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, and AJ’s exit is just another blow.
They said: ‘It’s terrible timing, AJ was a big part of the show’s future and nobody saw this coming at all.
‘Things are really tough at the moment. The show doesn’t come back until the Autumn but, by now, the programme would have liked to have one or two big celeb names signed up.
‘So far there is nobody on the books. Everything has been put on hold because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
‘Now, as well as facing a search for big names, the bosses need to replace one of their top male dancers.’
The insider also claimed that ITV could try to snap up AJ and his brother Curtis for a presenting job, after the pair revealed their ambitions to become the next Ant and Dec.
