Amanda’s outing came after she defended her decision to post snaps of her daughters on Instagram, insisting she always checked with her husband Chris Hughes before sharing the snaps.

Speaking to presenters Gemma Rose Breger and Sam Silver, Amanda admitted her daughters don’t always view her as ‘the cool mum,’ saying: ‘I’m not a cool mum, the only time they think it’s live shows for BGT and they use me to get to David Walliams, because all their friends want their books signed.

‘I’m quite handy to roll out for ”my parent has got an interesting job.”’

‘It’s weird because I think Lexi is very young for her age, for me it’s keeping your children as young as possible. No one needs to know what happens behind closed doors. They don’t know what Fortnite is, they think it’s two weeks.’

The star then added that she was originally reluctant to post snaps of her two daughters, saying: ‘We did [wait] for a long time and then they’ve ended up all over my Instagram. For so long we did shots of them from the back and as they’ve grown up it’s a pride thing, you end up being so proud of them.

‘I listened very intently to my husband, he’s not in the public eye, he doesn’t really come to events with me, he’s very private and he wanted to keep them private but the minute he said ”lexi looks blinking gorgeous you have to post that.”

‘[Lexi] gets quite embarrassed but the youngest loves it she says ”post it mummy post it.” So they’re not private anymore.’
