Ronan Keating posts heated apology telling haters ‘to shut the f**k up’ after mistaking busy Singapore port for tankers ‘unable to dock’ due to coronavirus
- The singer removed the post after several online users said it was misleading

- The caption said that the traffic was related to the global coronavirus outbreak
- But ships at sea off the world’s second-busiest port are a common sight
Ronan Keating has posted a heated apology, telling haters to ‘shut the f**k up’ after mistaking a busy Singapore port for tankers ‘unable to dock’ because of the coronavirus.
Earlier this week, the singer, 43, shared a picture while flying over the port and wrote: ‘A snap shot of some on the tankers held in Singapore not allowed to dock because of the virus.’
But ships at sea off the world’s second-busiest port are a common sight and many social media users, including the The Maritime & Port authority of Singapore, were quick to tell him so.
Hitting out: Ronan Keating has posted a heated apology, telling haters to ‘shut the f**k up’ after mistaking a busy Singapore port for tankers ‘unable to dock’ because of the coronavirus
They replied to Ronan on Monday: ‘We are glad that @rokeating caught a glimpse of the busy Port of Singapore. Every 2-3 minutes, a ship arrives or leaves Singapore. At any one time, there are about 1,000 ships in the Port!
‘To date, no cargo vessel has been turned away due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We have taken enhanced precautions while ships continue to berth at our port.
They added: Staff are working “round the clock” to ensure the port stays open, the post said, adding: “#WeCouldntSayNothingAtAll.’
The hashtag is a reference to Keating’s hit When You Say Nothing At All.
Oops: The singer, 43, shared a picture of the port while flying over and wrote: ‘A snap shot of some on the tankers held in Singapore not allowed to dock because of the virus.’
This led Ronan to issue a grovelling apology but told his haters to ‘shut the f**k up’, which he later deleted from the post.
He wrote: I recently posted this pic after being told by a local in Singapore that the reason they were all parked up was due to the virus.
‘I have been recently informed that this is not true and that this is how the harbour always looks.
‘I apologise if I offended anyone in my post you all know I would never purposefully do that. To all you haters out there, shut the f**k up.
‘I went to Singapore and did a gig when others were cancelling and the same in Jakarta. I feel very blessed to be able to do what I do. Peace and love to all and wash your hands.’
Apology: This led Ronan to issue a grovelling apology but told his haters to ‘shut the f**k up’, which he later deleted from the post (this is the edited version)
Funny: The city-state’s Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) also responded to Keating’s post on Monday ‘#WeCouldntSayNothingAtAll,’ the MPA added
The gaffe comes after Ronan and his wife Storm recently revealed the news they are expecting a baby girl.
Irish musician Ronan shared the ‘super exciting’ news during an interview with OK! magazine, as the couple prepare to have their second child together.
And during the interview, Australian designer Storm joked that her husband will now need to get a vasectomy, as he’s set to become a father of five.
Speaking to the publication, Ronan said: ‘Yes, we’re having a baby girl! It’s super exciting. We are very lucky and I am so happy for Storm.’
Awkward: Ships at sea off the world’s second-busiest port are a common sight and many social media users were quick to tell him so
Storm added: ‘I’ve always wanted at least one of each sex so I’m feeling very blessed. That’s five kids in total now, so that’s enough, we’re going to have to get Ro to have the snip.’
Boyzone star Ronan has son Jack, 20, and daughters Missy, 18, and Ali, 14, from his marriage ex-wife Yvonne Connolly. He also has two-year-old son Cooper with Storm.
On welcoming a baby girl into their home, Ronan said: ‘People say that girls can be trickier. With Cooper being such a dream we’re scared we can’t get that lucky twice.’
But Storm, who has already picked out a ‘non-traditional’ name for the baby, has insisted that ‘even if [the baby] is a little terror’, she is ‘chuffed’ to be having a girl.
