Rochelle Humes, 34, thought husband Marvin, 38, was ‘having a midlife crisis’ when he signed up for I’m A Celeb as she reveals the one thing he did in the Jungle that shocked her
Rochelle Humes has admitted she thought her husband was ‘having a midlife crisis’ when he signed up for I’m A Celeb.
The Saturdays star, 34, chatted to her co-hosts Rylan and Emma Willis on Friday’s episode of This Morning as she gave her thoughts on Marvin Humes’ Jungle stint.
Smiling as she spoke about her husband of 11 years, Rochelle confessed: ‘I can’t believe he did it to be honest with you! I thought he was having some midlife crisis!
‘Normally people go and buy a fancy car, and he decides to go in the jungle, I still can’t get my head around it.
‘But the fact that he’s done things that I never thought he’d do like jump out of a plane, that was just a massive deal because I just know how much that terrifies him – I still can’t believe he’s in there and quite what he’s done.’

Full of pride about his time in camp, Rochelle continued: ‘I’ve loved watching it because he’s just been him.
‘Anyone that knows him knows how calm he is, how level headed he is… but he’s quite competitive, especially with himself, so it’s there’s a star to be won I know he’ll go in and give it a good go – I can tell he’s not happy with the green ants.
‘He’s just really calm and chilled and to be honest, I’ve missed that at home having three kids – it’s all a bit crazy, I’ve missed the calmness. I’ve realised who’s the frantic one of the duo and it’s definitely me!’
While she’s been enjoying seeing her husband take on his fears, bizarrely it wasn’t his handling of the Bushtucker Trials that had surprised her.
During Sunday’s show, the campmates were given their letters from home, with emotional Marvin breaking down in tears at Rochelle’s words.
Confessing that she hadn’t expected that level of reaction, Rochelle admitted, ‘We’ve been together 14 years and I think I’ve seen him cry four times.
‘It really threw me [with the letter] I thought he’d really like it and appreciate it but I did not think for one minute that he’d cry!
‘Obviously we work away sometimes, but we always talk, so the no contact has been really weird for me so to see him get really emotional, he’s obviously feeling it a little bit too…’

She was also surprised at Marvin’s sentimentality when she checked into her five-star hotel in Surfer’s Paradise and was handed her husband’s personal items.
While sorting through his belongings, the singer was surprised to see he had taken one of her chains with him to quarantine with before entering the Jungle.
She also revealed that he’d been sending her and the children secret messages every night with the ‘heart pump’ he gives on camera to show that he misses them.
Rochelle touched down in Brisbane Airport with a pile of suitcases on Wednesday after delaying her trip to attend the British Fashion Awards on Monday.
Rochelle arrived a week later than the other campmates’ loved ones and previously explained she’d had to hold off flying out to attend the event at the Royal Albert Hall.
But she got a scare on Monday when Marvin was nearly eliminated from the show and faced a lonely walk across the Jungle bridge.
The JLS singer was revealed to be in the bottom two alongside Nella Rose, with the YouTube star, 26, becoming the second star to be voted of after receiving the least amount of votes.
While the episode was airing on Monday night, Rochelle was walking the red carpet at London’s Royal Albert Hall for the British Fashion Awards.
However, the TV presenter ditched the star-studded event early and rushed home to get ready to catch her flight to Australia, in the hopes that she would make it there on time to greet her husband.
