Richard Osman discusses his future in 2021
Pointless legend Richard Osman, 52, is a household name – but he is not the only famous face in his family.
Older brother Mat Osman, 55, also found fame thanks to the rock band Suede in the late 80s.
He is a bass guitarist and founding member of one of the biggest bands.
Richard, who boasts 1.2 million followers on Twitter, posted a snap of him and his sibling attending the Hay Festival.

Mat Osman’s band was formed in 1989, and their debut album was one of the fastest-selling in almost ten years, reaching the top of the UK charts.
Suede was highly acclaimed and part of the ‘Big Britpop Four’, which included other bands such as Oasis, Blur and Pulp in 1995.
Richard used to hear Mat, who is three years older than him, recording demos upstairs at their home when he was a teenager.

Suede broke up in 2003, which lead Mat to provide music for television programmes such as The Marriage Ref, 8 Out of 10 Cats, and You Have Been Watching.
Although he returned to play with Suede when the band reformed in 2010.
Since then, Mat has turned his hand to writing novels.
Richard’s debut novel, The Thursday Murder Club, sold over a million copies becoming a Sunday Times bestseller back in September 2020, with Steven Speilberg later snapping up the film rights.
While Mat’s first book, The Ruins, was published in February 2020 and his second, The Ghost Theatre, was acquired by Bloomsbury Publishing in 2022.
Mat is an experienced writer, previously being the London editor of the email magazine Le cool and has had his writing published in British magazines and newspapers.
Since leaving Pointless after 13 years alongside co-host Alexander Armstrong, Richard is said to be focusing his efforts on his writing.
