Amanda Bynes’ mother Lynn will remain in control of her health and medical decisions for at least two more years.

The “Hairspray” actress was placed under a conservatorship controlled by her parents in 2013, after she was hospitalised on a 72-hour mental-health evaluation hold following her increasingly erratic behaviour at the time.

In March 2017, the courts gave the 32-year-old control of her finances again, but left her health and medical matters in the hands of her mother Lynn.

According to The Blast, documents were filed last week (end August 05) extending the conservatorship until August 2020. Sources have told the website that she is “doing great” and there is no need to change anything.

Revealing that Amanda was back in control of her money, Amanda’s conservatorship attorney Nyree Kolanjian told People magazine in June 2017, “The court felt, based on Amanda’s progress and her great relationship with her parents, there was no longer a need for court supervision of Amanda’s money and she and her family can handle her financial affairs privately. This was a first step in the right direction.”

The news comes shortly after Amanda’s former “All That” co-star Nick Cannon, who sent her an open letter offering his support while she was experiencing troubles, told Entertainment Tonight that she was doing well.

“As of recently, I haven’t (spoken to her), but I heard she’s doing so much better,” he said. “People, when they’re dealing with personal issues, sometimes you gotta give them their space, and then when they reach out, that’s the time to do it.”

The “Easy A” actress enrolled in California’s Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) during her break from the spotlight and she is set to graduate later this year. She already has plans to unveil her clothing range, Vintage by A.B., next spring, and make a return to television.
