Pete Evans has revealed that he is flouting social distancing guidelines and embracing his elderly mother every time he sees her.
In a Mother’s Day post shared to Instagram on Sunday, the 47-year-old shared a photo of his mum, Joy, with her grandchildren.
The controversial chef wrote: ‘We love you mum. Happy MUM day and thank you for being you and also a rebel in your own right.

‘I will continue to give you a hug and a kiss every single f$&@’n time I see you like I have over the last few months (unless YOU say no).’
He added: ‘What an amazing journey it is to have you in our lives and I treasure our times together. Will be over for a broth and tea soon.’
He went on to explain the photo: ‘This was the other day when mum really needed a hug from her grandchildren’.

Social distancing guidelines suggest that those who do not live together should keep a two metre distance.
The elderly are particularly at risk of complications if they contract COVID-19.
However, from May 1, the rules were changed to allow two adults to visit another person’s home.
