'Offended' Adele 'walked out' on interview with Matt Doran

Channel 7 reporter Matt Doran suspended over $1million car crash Adele interview – after the offended superstar singer ‘walked out’ when he admitted he hadn’t listened to her new album

Weekend Sunrise host Matt Doran has been taken off the air for two weeks after ‘offending’ Adele.

The Channel Seven reporter flew to London to chat with the pop diva, 33, but admitted during the interview he hadn’t actually listened to her new album, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The TV host was subsequently ‘suspended by Seven Network bosses’, the newspaper reported.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Seven for comment.

Doran reportedly sat down with the Hello hitmaker for a ’20-30 minute’ interview, during which he did not ‘ask a single question about the new album’.

When asked by Adele what he thought of her 30 album, Doran allegedly admitted he had not listened to it.

An offended Adele is then said to have walked out of the interview, although other sources have claimed the interview was already finished when the bestselling musical artist probed Matt.

Although the interview was recorded, Adele’s label Sony reportedly denied Seven the rights to air any portion of it.

The network allegedly spent $1million on the ill-fated one-on-one interview, an Oprah chat with the star and footage from her One Night Only concert.

Seven seemingly still have the rights to the latter two events, as they are continuing to advertise both on social media.

‘Angry’ Seven executives went on to pull Doran off the air for a fortnight.

He was back on air co-hosting Weekend Sunrise alongside Monique Wright on Saturday.

Matt, 37, has had a successful career as a journalist, previously working for The Herald Sun, before going on to work for Network 10.

He’s engaged to Weekend Today producer Kendall Bora.
