‘We are particularly proud of the gifted young actors who brought Jonathan’s beloved fictional characters to the screen with such warmth, charm and vulnerability.
‘Ruby, Cameron and Ali were our perfect Lucy, Lockwood and George. We couldn’t have asked for a more dedicated or talented trio.
‘All three are superstars and we can’t wait to see them shine in the dazzling bright future that undoubtedly awaits them.’
Several fans took to Twitter to complain about how ‘devastated’ they are by the news.
One wrote: ‘My kids and I are utterly devastated by this. Daughter feeling grief like she’s lost a friend @NetflixUK has a lot to answer for.’
A second said: ‘Why do they even bother commissioning new stuff? Lockwood & Co was well liked and had good viewership. What do Netflix need to renew a show? Is it literally only the Bridgertons and Stranger Things?’
A third penned: ‘Wtf netflix, why cancelled Lockwood&Co.? It’s a good series. They deserve few more seasons.’
‘Noooooooooo cancelled Lockwood & Co. I loved that series,’ added another.
A fifth gutted fan wrote: ‘This is so disappointing- especially because we know that they cancelled this for another/new series, which will also probably not be picked up after its first season. We’ve also always known that Netflix is in it for the money.’
‘So crushing to see such a fantastic show get tossed aside by @netflix but that’s the norm for them now,’ said another.
‘That’s it. BOYCOTT NETFLIX BRU this is a JOKE. first julie and the phantoms.. NOW LOCKWOOD AND CO? BRUH THEY MAKE TERRIBLE STUFF AND CANCEL ALL YHE GOOD STUFF NAW,’ another said.
