Nadia Bartel FINALLY breaks her silence after white powder scandal

Nadia Bartel FINALLY breaks her silence after she was infamously busted snorting white powder off a $1.50 Kmart plate: ‘I made a big mistake’

Nadia Bartel has broken her silence for the first time after a video of her ‘snorting white powder’ and breaking Melbourne’s strict lockdown went viral in September 2021.

In the video, the former WAG was filmed by business partner Ellie Pearson snorting white powder off a $1.50 Kmart plate at an illegal gathering at a friends house.

Nadia, 37, told Stellar magazine on Sunday, she is hurt her actions ‘disappointed people whose opinion means the world to me’.

‘I made a big mistake. And I accept that. I just feel there’s a real, ongoing pursuit for it – still. And that’s what feels very hurtful,’ she said.

The Henne creator said she initially wanted to share her story and ‘speak her truth’ but realised people will always have their own opinions.

‘I just want my actions to speak louder than any words,’ she added.

‘The social media reaction was very negative towards me and it hurt a lot. What hurt more was the feeling that I’d let people down who I love and whose opinion means the world to me.’

Nadia also explained on Instagram how her interview has given her a ‘sense of peace and an opportunity to now move on’.

‘I own my mistakes and will continue to focus on what’s real around me and in time, my actions will speak louder than any words,’ she said.

Back in September 2021, Nadia’s business partner Ellie filmed her breaking lockdown rules and snorting white powder at an illegal gathering.

Ellie accidentally uploaded the footage on her Instagram page, with Nadia breaking her silence with a public apology one day later.

‘Hi everyone, I have let you all down by my actions. I take full responsibility and I am committed to taking all necessary steps to ensure I make better choices in future,’ Nadia wrote in a post.

‘To my family and friends, my business partners and the public health workers trying to keep us all safe, I am embarrassed and remorseful.

‘I am truly and deeply sorry. I hope I can earn your forgiveness and, in time, your trust.’

At the time private and public gatherings were not permitted in Melbourne, where Bartel lives, under Victoria’s Covid restrictions.

Nadia’s apology – which included an appeal for forgiveness from health workers – appeared to confirm the gathering was held on Thursday, September 2.

A later report claimed the video first found its way online due to Ellie having a cracked phone screen.

It’s alleged she was attempting to send the video to her sister; however, because her phone screen was damaged, she hit the wrong buttons.

As a result, the clip was posted to both Instagram and Facebook, and was online for about 10 minutes before being deleted, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

But it was quickly copied by others and shared around.

Nadia and three other women were each fined $5,452 after damning footage of the party was posted on Instagram.

Nadia wasn’t charged with drug offences, because police couldn’t prove what she was snorting.

The influencer is a mother of two and the ex-wife of retired AFL star Jimmy Bartel, a Brownlow Medallist who spent his career with the Geelong Cats.

The couple split in 2019 after five years of marriage.
