Mourinho drills Man Utd players in one key area in training

The Manchester United team hit their Carrington training ground on Wednesday ahead of this weekend’s clash with Crystal Palace.

A number of first team Red Devils players were abroad representing their various countries during the international break this weekend, but are back in Manchester now for the return of the Premier League.

United play host to Roy Hodgson’s Eagles on Saturday, and will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing defeat to rivals Manchester City two weeks ago.

The Red Devils were thumped 3-1 by Pep Guardiola’s men at the Etihad, and find themselves 12 points behind the Citizens after just 12 games played.

But Mourinho has a plan to turn things around at Old Trafford, and drilled his players in one key area ahead of this weekend’s match.

It seems the Portuguese is keen for his side to work on their agility, and had his coaching team set up hurdles on the training ground.

The United players then took it in turns sprinting up and down the pitch and leaping over the hurdles to improve their acceleration, balance and overall fitness.

Mourinho was busy during the international break and even took the time to travel to Belgium on a personal scouting mission.

The Portuguese was spotted in the crowd for Belgium’s Nations League win over Iceland, despite United duo Romelu Lukaku and Marouane Fellaini not featuring.

According to Belgian outlet HLN, Mourinho was there to watch Dortmund’s Axel Witsel, who he is reportedly interested in signing in the January transfer window.
