Miranda Lambert has released an all-female cover of Elvin Bishop‘s 1975 hit, “Fooled Around and Fell in Love.”
The cover features Maren Morris, Elle King, Ashley McBryde, Tenille Townes and Caylee Hammack, all of whom are accompanying Lambert on her Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars tour.
Earlier, Lambert shared a clip showing each of her associates taking turns at the mic to add their vocals to the chorus for “Fooled Around and Fell in Love.”
Bishop’s “Fooled Around and Fell in Love,” which featured Mickey Thomas‘ vocals, reached No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot 100 when it was released as a single from Bishop’s Struttin’ My Stuff album.
The cover version is not part of Lambert’s upcoming seventh studio album, Wildcard, but it’s the first new work from her since she released “Pretty Bitchin'” earlier this month.
Wildcard, which is Lambert’s first full-length project since The Weight of These Wing in 2018, is due out on November 1 via RCA Records Nashville.
Lambert has already released the album’s lead single, “It All Comes Out in the Wash” to country radio. She also released a video for the track.
Lambert’s Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars tour kicked off on September 13, at Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun Arena.
