Mickey Rourke cuts a winter-ready figure in fur-hooded vest outside of a pizza joint alongside his adorable pup

Actor and ex-boxer Mickey Rourke looked ready for SoCal’s falling temperatures on Saturday as he was spotted sitting outside of a pizza restaurant in a vest with a fur-lined hood alongside his pet pup.

The Wrestler star looked peaceful as he gazed onto the sidewalk from his seat where he held his pet pup in his lap.

Rourke, 67, paired the vest with a brown deep V-neck shirt that put his chest tattoos on display.

He finished off the ensemble with a pair of distressed medium-wash jeans and a pair of lace-up boots.

Mickey played a member of the Neo-Nazi prison gang the Aryan Brotherhood in the film Night Walk released earlier this year.

His co-star Sean Stone, son of Oliver, explained to DailyMail.com: ‘It’s a story of star-crossed lovers, two people from different cultures, a white guy from the States and a woman from the Middle East and the love story turns into a nightmare when my character is wrongfully convicted of killing her while traveling to her homeland.’

He added, ‘It’s got elements of wrongful conviction and my experience in prison as I basically go from hatred to self-discovery, finding faith and spiritual awakening.’

The rising actor went on: ‘Mickey plays the tough guy, an Aryan brother who I encounter on my first day in prison. He intimidates my character and I have to decide whether to join his gang to protect me or join a Muslim gang.’

Written, directed by and co-starring Aziz Tazi, the movie reunites Mickey with his old The Pope Of Greenwich Village co-star Eric Roberts.

Mickey’s amateur fighting career stretched from when he was 12 years old until his early 20s, during which time he racked up 27 wins and only three losses.

The 1970s and 1980s saw the ascent of his acting career, a highlight being his smoldering 1986 star turn opposite Kim Basinger in 9 1/2 Weeks.

Yet he recalled to the Daily Mail in 2009: ‘I stupidly said acting wasn’t a job for a real man. I threatened producers, raged at directors, forgot my agent’s name. I really burned my bridges. And a lot of people have long memories.’

Tough guy: Mickey will be playing a member of the Neo-Nazi prison gang the Aryan Brotherhood in an upcoming movie Night Walk

In the 1990s he veered into professional boxing, but despite his success in the ring, he sustained serious facial injuries and sought surgical help.

‘Most of it was to mend the mess of my face because of the boxing, but I went to the wrong guy to put my face back together,’ he confessed to the Mail.

Mickey went on to earn an Oscar nomination for playing a grappler in the 2008 film The Wrestler, though the trophy wound up going to Sean Penn for Milk.

He has two ex-wives – model Carré Otis and actress Debra Feuer – and since 2009 has dated Russian model Anastassija Makarenko, who is 34 years his junior.

The actor took to Instagram later in the day to give his followers a heads-up about a zealous biographer named Chris who is writing a ‘bio story’ on him without his permission.

‘Yeah, hi, any of my friends out there on Instagram or wherever the hell you are.

‘There’s some guy running around named Chris trying to do a bio story on me without my permission, so any of the three or four directors that I worked with this year, anybody on movies or whatever or anybody from the gym –  if some guy named Chris comes up, tell the guy to go f*** himself because he doesn’t have my permission and I’m not very happy about it.’
