Lowry Hotel staff reveal what they heard from Man Utd’s pre-Valencia meeting

Staff at the Lowry Hotel have revealed Jose Mourinho had a 45-minute rant at his players prior to their Champions League clash against Valencia.

Manchester United often use the luxury five-star hotel, located near Salford Central rail station, to meet before games.

Mourinho and his men arrived at the Lowry on Monday evening, fresh off the back of United’s 3-1 defeat to West Ham .

According to the MailOnline , the meeting was only supposed to take 20 minutes but ended up lasting twice as long.

Mourinho delivered an ear-bashing to his players following their woeful performance at the London Stadium.

The report adds that hotel staff could hear Mourinho raise his voice throughout the meeting and that the players barely responded to the tirade.

The next night, United’s players huddled before kick-off as a show of solidarity.

Marouane Fellaini explained: "Everyone is going in the same direction to try to improve and to do better. I think we wanted to show that we are together.

"It was everybody’s idea. I think everybody is behind the manager. We have to do our best and do our job. We showed it today but we have to do better on Saturday."
