This year’s Love Island contestants have reportedly been having sex in the villa but bosses have decided not to broadcast it for fear of ‘ruining their lives’.
According to The Sun Online, some of the couples have got intimate in the bedroom but TV bosses are aware showing it on screen could damage their reputations.
A source told the publication: ‘There’s a few couples having sex in the villa but it hasn’t been shown on TV – bosses are worried about upsetting them and fear ruining their lives.

‘Most of them have said they’re not comfortable with their sex scenes being broadcast and bosses have taken it all into account – many go on to regret having sex on camera because of how they’re viewed by the public and their employers. ‘
There has been increased scrutiny on the aftercare given to reality TV contestants following the deaths of former Love Island contestants Sophie Gradon and Mike Thalassitis.
This was also said to have been taken into account when choosing not to air the contestant’s bedroom antics.
The source added: ‘ITV bosses are being extra cautious after suicides and it’s easier to not show the sex – if it happens it’s alluded to in the commentary by Iain Stirling rather than explicitly shown – chances are we might never see anyone have sex on Love Island again.’

She told the publication: ‘If I had my time on the show again I would definitely do things differently, I wouldn’t have sex for a start. So my advice to this year’s islanders is think before you do it. It could haunt you for the rest of your career.’
Zara recently shared her feelings in a candid interview as part of Heat magazine’s Wheres Your Head At? campaign, admitting that ‘a lot of struggles’ came with being on the dating show and it ’caused her to become depressed’.
Taking ownership for going on the show, she said: ‘Why I became depressed and having my anxiety attacks was post being on Love Island.

‘That was only my actions, I think that, caused it all… being on a reality TV show, a lot of struggles come with it, after. That you don’t get told before you apply. Or, I didn’t – three years ago.’
She added: ‘Absolutely no way was I prepared enough and I’d probably say, hand on my heart, the majority of people from my series would say the same.’
A spokesperson for Love Island previously told MailOnline: ‘All of our islanders are offered psychological support before, during and after their time in the villa.
‘We take our duty of care very seriously and this is always our top priority.’
