Liam Gallagher has finally confirmed his engagement to girlfriend of five years Debbie Gwyther.
In scenes set to air on Saturday’s edition of The Jonathan Ross Show, the Oasis rocker, 46, revealed he got on two knees and begged his former personal assistant, 36, to marry him during a romantic proposal in Italy earlier this year.
The musician also admitted he’s extended an olive branch to his estranged brother Noel, 52, by inviting him to his upcoming wedding, but confessed the ball’s in his sibling’s court on whether he attends.

An excited Liam appeared in great spirits as he spoke of his recent proposal, which took place in the Amalfi Coast with his beloved mother Peggy.
Sharing details of how he took his relationship to the next level, the media personality explained: ‘I did it properly. I went down on two knees and begged her.
‘Did it in the Amalfi Coast, we was on holiday with me Mam. Been talking about it for a bit, then batting it off, we both thought let’s just do it. I’m looking forward to it man.’
The songwriter revealed his mother approved of his proposal, and took unconventional measures to ensure he didn’t ‘f*** up’ the special moment.

Liam shared: ‘She wasn’t there when I got down on hands and knees and begged, she was on holiday with us.
‘I said [to her], “Look I’m going to like, start begging”. She said, “Yeah she’s a good girl, don’t be f***ing it up”. She had me in a headlock as well. I’m buzzing for it, next year, you’re all invited!’

Revealing he’s willing to put their differences aside for the wedding, the Songbird hitmaker explained: ‘I’m going to invite him. Why not, he’s my brother. All he can do is turn it down can’t he.’
Despite his kind gesture, Liam admitted he doubts Noel will attend: ‘We’ll see won’t we. I’m sure he… I can’t see him coming. Me other brother’s [Paul] going to be a best man. [Noel] ain’t going to come, but listen we can dream, can’t we?

‘I’ll do it for the wedding, but I’m not doing it for everyone else to take the p***. I’ll do it once and once only. I might get the bug, you mean?

Liam and Noel first founded Oasis back in 1991, joined by Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs, Paul ‘Guigsy’ McGuigan and Tony McCarroll. Bonehead was replaced by Gem Archer as he left the group eight years later.
With their band officially splitting in 2009, the I’m Outta Time singer shared his hopes for a reunion: ‘I’m ready to go. I’m ready to have a good time again, man. Main thing is being brothers – forget the band.
‘I don’t think we should have split up. We’ve had worse arguments about lesser things. I think we need a good band like that, we did exactly what it said on the tin.’

The rock star – who is set to turn 47 on Saturday – shed light on his birthday plans: ‘I’ve got a gig in Manchester so I’m grafting that night. I’ll have a few beers, I’ll raise a few glasses to myself later on. Not going to go too heavy.
‘I think they’re the hardest gigs though, Manchester. Playing your home town is the hardest thing I think. You can’t act up.
‘I’m not a****d about the birthday to be fair. I’ll wait and celebrate 50, if I get there. 47 is like whatever man. What am I going to do that I don’t do every day, you know what I mean?’
