Kristin Cavallari’s ex Jay Cutler DENIES he cheated on her and criticizes her for speaking out in ‘public’ about their marriage problems ‘two and a half years’ after their divorce
Kristin Cavallari’s ex-husband Jay Cutler denied rumors he cheated on her and criticized her for speaking out ‘in public’ about their marriage problems.
The pair split up in 2020 and initially fought over money and custody of their children but have since settled into an amicable co-parenting relationship.
However this month Kristin, 35, publicly declared that their marriage was ‘toxic’ – and now Jay, 39, has gone on the podcast Sofia With An F to shoot back.

Jay argued that he does not ‘understand’ why Kristin would pull the curtain back on their marital woes ‘two and a half years’ after the divorce.
‘Why are we having these conversations in public?’ the NFL heartthrob asked. ‘It’s comical. It doesn’t make sense.’
When it comes to the divorce, he said: ‘What’s happened is what happened,’ and he expressed consternation that ‘we have to have this conversation now and it’s like: Come on, man, let’s just – we’re done here.”‘
Host Sofia Franklyn then directly confronted him with the rumors that he was unfaithful to Kristin, but he replied: ‘Nope, never cheated.’

When it comes to the reasons Kristin wanted a divorce, Jay said: ‘I mean, I guess she fell out of love, I don’t know. Or it was toxic. I mean, depends on the day, I guess.’
He confessed: ‘I’m not for sure what she said, and frankly I don’t care what she said, honestly. Like it’s – like I said, it’s two and a half years. Like, we’re done here. And I mean, I’m sure there’ll be a rebuttal to this so we’ll stay tuned for that one.’
Jay and Kristin share three children – Camden, 10, Jaxon, eight, and Saylor, six – and he shared that he remains mindful of them when he discusses Kristin in public.
‘I mean, I’ve got three kids, so like at some point they’re going to, they’re gonna read stuff, they’re gonna ask questions, so I’ve kind of steered clear of all of that,’ he said.
Remember when: In September 2020 Kristin told Entertainment Tonight that she ended her reality show Very Cavallari (pictured) in order to keep the divorce off of TV
‘If she wants to stay stuff she can stay stuff. I’m not going to go down that road about her. I mean, she’s still the mother of the kids.’
He also alleged that her appraisal of their marriage has ‘changed over the course of two and a half years’ since they separated.
Jay’s remarks come after Kristin dished on Call Her Daddy that her marriage was ‘toxic’ and she dismissed the ‘red flags’ she saw as early as the engagement.
In fact, Kristin canceled the wedding in 2011 when she and Jay were first engaged, but they eventually did get married in 2013.

‘Basically I called off the engagement [for] the same reason I got a divorce, and so I guess if there’s any takeaway from that is you can’t ignore red flags,’ she said, warning listeners: ‘People don’t change, and you’ve got to trust your gut.
She called the marriage an ‘unhealthy relationship,’ saying she was ‘really unhappy’ with Jay and did not want her children to regard her circumstances as ‘normal.’
Jay and Kristin announced that they were getting divorced in April of 2020, since which time Kristin has dated and broken up with comedian Jeff Dye.

Mysterious: In late January 2021 Kristin and Jay cryptically shared the same joint selfie with the same caption: ‘The world is full of users,’ adding: ’10 years’ and: ‘Can’t break that’
‘I didn’t want to talk about my divorce on camera and have to expose that. I really think that some things should be kept private,’ she explained.

Rumors quickly reached a fever pitch that they were getting back together but shortly thereafter a People source confirmed they were not.
Backdrop: Jay’s remarks come after Kristin dished on Call Her Daddy that her marriage was ‘toxic’ and she dismissed the ‘red flags’ she saw as early as the engagement
Earlier this year she dished in an interview that divorcing Jay was both the ‘scariest’ and the ‘best thing that I’ve ever done.’
On an episode of the School Of Greatness podcast she shared that she was ‘the happiest I’ve ever been,’ and in ‘no rush’ to leap into another romance.
Kristin credited her split from her husband with having ‘really jump-started my journey on self-love and figuring out who I am now.’
