Kim Kardashian demonstrates how to use her new SKIMS body strips… before admitting she used to use gaffer tape which ‘RIPPED her skin’
Kim Kardashian demonstrated how her new SKIMS body tape works on social media on Tuesday on a topless model.
The 39-year-old admitted her new invention is pain-free on the nipple area and said she used to use gaffer tape to hold her breasts up when going braless to hold her cleavage in place and lift it.
But she admitted that she would ‘rip her skin’ when removing the tape which was not designed for such things.
OUCH! Kim Kardashian demonstrates how to use her new SKIMS body strips on social media on Tuesday… before admitting she used to use gaffer tape (pictured) which ‘RIPPED her skin’
Good idea: She shared a video of herself taping up a topless model with her new SKIMS tape and demonstrated how easy it was to apply it to lift the boobs and pain-free to remove as well
She said: ‘Hey guys, I’m in my closet and I’m going to show you how to tape up your boobs with the boob tape because it’s something that I used for so many years.’
Basically the the tape works as a lift when a bra just won’t do, especially when wearing a blazer without a shirt and low neckline dresses.
Some ladies feel uncomfortable going bra-free and prefer the lift, support, security and coverage the tape gives.
Comfort: Kim maintains her new SKIMS body tape is much more flattering than the bumpy tape she used to use (above)
Instructions: Kim showed the correct angle to apply the tape which sticks over the top of the shoulder and said she has put nipple covers on the model for Instagram’s decency rules
Using gaffer or duct tape has long been a stylist’s trick for braless looks – but can lead to puckering of the boobs under the outfit and is painful to take off.
Kim regularly turns to tape, especially under halterneck dresses or when she goes braless under blazers, but said: ‘It would burn me and rip me [her skin].
She first showcased the three different shades of tape, that she admits ‘won’t match the exact skin tone’ perfectly, that will soon be available through her SKIMS brand.
She said: ‘I haven’t really seen a tape that’s out there that was in different variety of new colors, so I’m excited to launch these really soon along with our nipple covers.
That makes sense: Kim said that ‘gentle’ was a key thing when designing the tapes, for understandable reasons
Good one: The SKIMS body tape works as a lift when a bra just won’t do, especially when wearing a blazer without a shirt and low neckline dresses.
Demo: The reality star then gave a step-by step demonstration on how easily cut the tape
After making a cut to the tape for application, Kim showed how easy it to take the back label off which reveal the adhesive side of the tape that will stick to the body.
She said: ‘If only we had this back in the day, that would be so amazing.’
Kim recommended a healthy length which would be long enough to be placed at the top of each shoulder, cover the breast, and end just under the breast.
She then ironed out any wrinkles with her finger, showing how easy it is to get a smooth finish.
The secret: The key is to not see the tape,’ the reality star said of the body tape process, before throwing a blazer on the model to show the final look
Pain free: Afterwards Kim had the model pull the tape off of her body to show how easily it comes off, pain-free without marking the skin at all
Kim said: ‘I try not to go to in near her neck because usually a dress comes in that way,’ she advised so that the tape remains hidden.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star confessed she learned the secret of body tape while working on a fragrance shoot years ago.
‘The key is to not see the tape,’ she said of the ultimate result.
Afterwards Kim had the model pull the tape off of her body to show how easily it comes off, pain-free, and without leaving any marks.
