Ouch: Kanye West’s – pictured in New York City back in December – bid to trademark apparel for his Sunday Service has been rejected by the United States Patent and Trademark Office according to a TMZ report on Friday
Interesting: He had applied for exclusive ownership of ‘Sunday Service’ to be emblazoned on all types of clothing and footwear but it was rejected as someone has already been doing that, as one of the shirts can be seen at a Sunday Service in Wyoming earlier this month
As someone has already registered the name, Kanye’s apparel would cause confusion in the marketplace thus the bid was denied.
Back in July, West filed legal documents for exclusive ownership of clothing including shirts, socks, dresses, footwear, headwear and scarves.
His weekly gatherings have become distinctive for the uniform the congregation wears which is always matching in color but changes each week and features loose tunic or poncho style tops with plain pants and Yeezy sneakers.
It came months after the Yeezy designer raised eyebrows with the prices he was asking for some of his merchandise at Coachella in April when he put on a massive Sunday Service for festival-goers.

Set up near Kanye’s stage on the festival’s campgrounds was a merchandise tent emblazoned with the letters ‘CHURCH CLOTHES’.
The new threads didn’t come cheap, with prices hitting as high as $225 for a sweater and fans took to Twitter to balk at the cost of the relatively plain and unremarkable attire.
The eight-piece collection included neutral-hued items bearing church slogans and ‘Holy Spirit’ and ‘Trust God,’.
There was also a pair of $50 socks that read ‘Jesus Walks.’

One T-shirt for sale cost $70. The front read ‘Trust God’, while the back was emblazoned with the words ‘Sunday Service At The Mountain’.
Fans called out Kanye for the high prices and selling merchandise on Easter Sunday, branding him ‘a real Prophet for Profit.’
But the prices sure didn’t scare off festivalsgoers.
A line snaked around the campground as Coachella attendees waited to grab their threads before Kanye’s service began.
