Josie Gibson shares cryptic post amid silence on Phillip Schofield’s This Morning exit

This Morning regular Josie Gibson has shared a cryptic quote as she continued to remain silent following her colleague Phillip Schofield leaving the show.

Josie, 38, hasn’t posted about her colleague online despite a number of This Morning co-stars sharing tributes of support for Phil.

Co-star Rochelle Humes, Alison Hammond, Dermot O'Leary and celebrity chef Clodagh McKenna have all addressed Phillip's show exit and have spoken out online offering their support, whereas Josie has decided to stay silent.

However, the star has shared some cryptic quotes online. Josie posed one quote that read: “I think the most beautiful thing in the world is watching the light come on in someone's eyes, after they have been lost in the dark for so long.”

While another quote read: “Remember, being happy doesn't mean you have it all. It simply means you're thankful for all you have.”

Last week Josie paid tribute to another co-star, Ella Bates, who left the show.

Josie took to Instagram and wrote: “The day we all got caught in the rain at @coronationstreet while filming @thismorning and then the sunshine came out. When I say sunshine I mean @ella.bates beautiful face.

"Ella I am so so sad to see you leave us. You lighten up any room with your magical energy.

"You are Golden my friend and your going places with that special energy of yours. I know you're going to live out your dreams but we are going to miss you so very much."

On Saturday 20 May, Phillip announced in a statement that he was leaving his position on the daytime show.

After a whopping 21 years on This Morning, Phillip released a statement that read: "I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story.

"Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind.

"I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.

"So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future."

Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary have stepped in on Monday 22 May and Tuesday 23 to host the show.

As Monday's show began, Alison and Dermot said they couldn't begin without paying tribute to Phillip and thanked him for his years of service on This Morning.

They said: "We all know he’s one of the best live television broadcasters this country has ever had.”

Dermot continued: "Everyone on and off screen at ITV and This Morning want to say a huge thank you to Phil for what he’s done to make the show such a success over the last 21 years.”

Alison and Dermot also addressed Holly's absence and said she was off for half term.

They confirmed that she'll be back in the studio on Monday, 5 June.
