Joe Alwyn is a British actor whose biggest credits are films such as Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, The Favourite, Boy Erased and Mary Queen of Scots. Now the star is due to feature in his first television role in the BBC miniseries A Christmas Carol as the abused, underpaid and yet persistent clerk of Ebenezer Scrooge, Bob Cratchit. Joe Alwyn and Taylor Swift have kept their romance largely out of the public eye, but reportedly the couple has been together for almost three years.
But now the actor has revealed a rare comment about his relationship with the singer-songwriter.
In an interview with the Sunday Times, Mr Alwyn revealed how he feels about the love songs she writes about him.
When asked if he minds Miss Swift writing songs or even entire albums about him, he told the Sunday Times: “No, not at all. No. It’s flattering.”

When asked whether it upset him that the press was so interested in his girlfriend and relationship, rather than just him.
He added: “I just don’t pay attention to what I don’t want to pay attention to.
“I turn everything else down on a dial. I don’t have any interest in tabloids.
“I know what I want to do, and that’s this, and that’s what I am doing.”
But how did the actor actually meet and fall for his megastar girlfriend?
Taylor and Jo are thought to have first met in May 2016 at the Met Gala.
Some believe the song “Dress” from her 2017 Reputation album might refer to their first meeting.
The lyrics in question: “Flashback to when you met me, your buzzed cut and my hair bleached.”
She was still dating Calvin Harris at that time, but it was during this event where she also danced with her next boyfriend Tom Hiddleston too.

In October that year, the pair both attended a Kings of Leon concert, although it is not known if they went together.
One month later, the singer and a gaggle of squad members went to the premiere of Alwyn’s film, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.
Reports the couple were dating did not emerge until May 2017, when the Sun reported the couple had been together for a few months after a source close to the pair spoke to the Sun.
The source told the Sun: “This isn’t a new couple alert or a secret relationship – the only people this has been a secret to is the media because all of us, Taylor and Joe’s closest friends and their families, were aware they have been together for several months and have known each other for a longtime.
“After her 1989 tour and all the attention Taylor received, she learned she had to be more protective of her personal life and she and Joe decided early on to keep their private life private.”
Joe and Taylor were snapped by the paparazzi for the first time in June 2017 in Nashville where the actor was allegedly meeting Taylor’s parents for the first time.
They were later pictured leaving Taylor’s flat in New York together.
In a “secret” listening session for her Reputation album in October 2017, the singer is believed to have told fans the single “Gorgeous” is about Joe.
A fan wrote on Tumblr: “Basically Taylor made us all promise that if anyone made any accusations of who this song is about, we tell them it is 100 percent about her angel boyfriend of one year.
“This isn’t a secret. She wanted us to tell people.”
The couple have been pictured together at events over the years and have made rare comments on their relationships and about one another.
Recently, the couple were seen together at the New York City premiere of Taylor’s new film Cats.
According to Us Weekly and E! The couple’s relationship is going well.
A source told Us Weekly: “Taylor has had a tough year and Joe has been a rock for her. They are still going very strong.”
An insider told E!: “Taylor has been spending a lot of downtime in London. She doesn’t go out much other than to take a walk with Joe or go to the local pub.
“They spend a lot of time with Joe’s family and friends. All weekend they had people come over or they went to family members’ homes.”
