Joanna Gaines shares a sweet message to husband Chip on their 16th wedding anniversary

Former “Fixer Upper” stars Joanna and Chip Gaines are celebrating 16 years of marriage.

Joanna took to Instagram Friday to commemorate their anniversary with a sweet message to her husband, writing, “16 years and it feels like we’re just getting started.”

She isn’t kidding. In the past year, the two expanded their lifestyle and home empire with plans to launch a new cable network with HGTV parent Discovery, were named to Time magazine’s 100 most influential people of the year and added to their family with the birth of their fifth child, son Crew.

The couple has four other children together: Drake, 14; Ella, 13; Duke, 11; and Emmie, 9.

But their admiration for each other remains unchanged. “I love you Chip Carter Gaines,” Joanna captioned a picture of the two lovebirds casually posing together.

For Chip, it was love at first sight.

“Her dad made the mistake of putting a pic of the family behind the counter at his (automotive) shop,” he told Pop Sugar in 2018. “I knew I’d marry her one day just by the picture on the wall.”

They later met at her father’s business, where Joanna worked, when Chip popped in to get his brakes tuned up. “We met in the waiting area and hit it off immediately. He was genuinely engaging and he had such a sincere smile,” she said.

The couple tied the knot in Waco, Texas, on May 31, 2003.

Joanna and Chip went on to become household names through their HGTV series “Fixer Upper,” which ended in April 2018 after five seasons.

But they have bigger things in store for their new cable network, now in the works.

The channel will launch in summer 2020 and replace Discovery’s DIY network, the couple exclusively told USA TODAY. It is expected to be branded with some variation of their Magnolia banner, which grew out of their construction business.

A website and streaming app are also in the works. And the couple will star in a new signature show on the network, among other potential series, that goes beyond home renovation.
