Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg will spend NYE at home for the first time in 10 years after she opts out of Dick Clark’s TV special
She’s been hosting Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve TV special for 10 years.
But this year Jenny McCarthy is having the night off to spend with husband Donnie Wahlberg and their extended family.
And the 50-year-old Blue Bloods actor couldn’t be happier.
In the family: Donnie Wahberg gushed, ‘It’s amazing. To be able to spend time together this Christmas and not think, “We have to leave tomorrow for Times Square for New Year’s Eve”‘
Her husband of five years told Closer Weekly: ‘It’s amazing. To be able to spend some time together this Christmas and not have to think, “We have to leave tomorrow for Times Square for New Year’s Eve.”‘
Donnie continued that they have a history with the show, saying: ‘The first New Year’s Eve she hosted, I performed with New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys.’
‘The last one she hosted, I performed again with New Kids On The Block.
‘So her 10-year run of hosting NYE was book-ended with the first day I met her and I got to spend it with her again performing both times.
Cuddling up: Jenny and husband Donnie’s kiss has become part of the show’s tradition
‘So it’s really…it’s kind of cool. If she wants to do it again next year, I’ll have to perform again,’ he gushed at the 10-year anniversary of Target’s holiday Heroes & Helpers program in early December.
But there’s one things fans won’t be able to share this year – the couple’s seasonal kiss.
‘You know, it’s going to be the first New Year’s since we’ve been together that we don’t have to stop kissing at midnight,’ he shared.

Donnie and Jenny 47, share his sons Xavier, 26, and Elijah, 18, and her 17-year-old son, Evan.
Meanwhile, both stars shared a snap watching the Boston Celtics beat the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
