Inbetweeners star Emily Atack looks glam for new Disney+ series

Emily Atack steps back into the eighties as she sports beehive hairdo and gold dress while filming new Disney+ series Rivals

Emily Atack has taken a step back into the eighties as she was spotted filming scenes for her new Disney+ series Rivals in Bristol this week.

The 33-year-old actress looked stunning with her hair pinned up as she wowed in a black and gold outfit for a red carpet TV awards scene which took place outside a Bristol city centre hotel.

Emily was joined by The Crown star Oliver Chris, 44, who looked to be her love interest in the series as the two posed and smiled together.

The comedian’s golden locks were permed and pinned to the top of her head as she cut an effortlessly glam look in elaborate shiny black and gold dress.

The former Inbetweeners star is set to star in the eight part series Rivals which is an adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s raunchy novel of the same name.

The book was published in 1988 and explores the cutthroat world of independent TV during the year 1986.

It follows the long-standing rivalry between womaniser Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex Hassell, 42,) and controller of the independent TV franchise Corinium Television, Tony Baddingham (David Tennant, 52).

The series is based on one of 10 novels from the Rutshire Chronicles series suggesting there could be many more seasons to come in the future.

Emily beamed from ear to ear as she finished the look with a pair of modest gold heels and gold clutch bag.

She kept it classy with a bold red lip and drew attention to her fabulous figure with a golden corset which cinched in her waist.

Emily plays Sarah Stratton, the new wife of the deputy prime minister Paul Stratton, who will be played by Rufus Jones, 48.

Enjoying the filming process, the star was seen laughing with her colleagues as they chatted in between takes during the red carpet scene.

Also starring in the star-studded series is Poldark’s Aidan Turner, 40, who will play TV presenter Declan O’Hara while former EastEnders star Danny Dyer, 46, plays the self-made electronics millionaire Freddie Jones.

Looking stern: Emily kept it serious as she strode the red carpet during the scenes

British comedian Katherine Parkinson, 45, plays Lizzie Vereker, a romantic novelist consistently overlooked by her preening and self-centred TV presenter husband, James Vereker, played by Oliver Chris.

In one shot Emily kept a stern face as she linked arms with her co-star Oliver Chris.

Her co-star David Tennant was also seen in the background of snaps as the cast filmed in the shining sun.

Earlier in March it was revealed that Emily had scrapped her own ITV2 comedy show after three series in favour of starring in this new role.

She launched The Emily Atack Show in November 2020, nearly two years after finishing runner up in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, and it proved a hit with young audiences.

A TV insider told MailOnline: ‘The show means so much to Emily, but she felt it was the right time to move on, there are no plans to make another one.

‘It takes a lot of work and dedication and other commitments this year meant it would be hard to give another series her all.
