Idris Elba helped a theatre-goer who suffered a seizure whilst watching him perform in a preview of his play Tree on Wednesday.
The 46-year-old actor wasted no time after he realised that Amanda Billington was having a fit in the audience at at Upper Campfield Market and rushed to her aide.
Amanda, 33, who has regular seizures due to an undiagnosed condition, told The Mirror that when she regained consciousness she realised Idris was by her side and he stayed with her until paramedics were able to help.

She said: ‘I would love to thank him personally, but doubt I will cross paths with him, he’s very famous.’
Idris is currently starring in Tree as part of the Manchester International Festival at Upper Campfield Market in Manchester.
Tree was co-created by the Luther actor and Kwame Kwei-Armah and is being shown at the festival until July 13.

The news comes as Idris’ new wife Sabrina, 29, gave fans another look at their wedding with unseen pictures.
The couple exchanged vows at the Ksar Char Bagh hotel in Marrakesh in May surrounded by 150 of their nearest and dearest.
The couple’s wedding was covered by British Vogue magazine, yet Sabrina revealed that she wore more than one bridal gown in a series of throwback pictures on Thursday.
The model looked stunning in the photos where she could be seen wearing a Grecian style white off the shoulder dress.

The garment featured pleated detailing and a leg slit while Sabrina added height to her frame with white heels.
In another photo, the bride wore a breathtaking white gown with detailed gold trimmings and a flowing train.
Several ladies who were part of the festivities also posed for the snaps in similar outfits.
Beauty queen Sabrina completed her look for the day by styling her raven locks into loose waves.

Sabrina wore two exquisite dresses by Vera Wang for the wedding – a Bardot-style gown for the wedding ceremony and a pearl-embroidered number for the reception while male guests wore black tie.
Her make-up was done by British make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury, while the photos were taken by American celebrity snapper Sean Thomas.
After stunning in her first A-line bardot style gown for the ceremony, Sabrina switched into a pearl embroidered number, while Idris was kitted out in a bespoke Ozwald suit for the swanky reception at the same venue – which has been captured in the first official pictures.
Making it quite the extravagant affair for their family and friends, the pair enjoyed a Moroccan themed dinner the night before at Amanjena, which sits just outside the Red City and is inspired by old Marrakech and 12th-century Menara gardens.

Idris and Sabrina met in Canada, where the former Miss Vancouver is from.
They became acquainted on the set of the 2017 film, The Mountain Between Us.
Speaking about the early days of their relationship, Idris told People magazine: ‘Falling in love while making a movie about falling in love is pretty special.’
They walked the red carpet together for the first time at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival for the screening of the film Molly’s Game which Idris starred in.

He said: ‘I think it’s an interesting space, especially for her. She’d never done a red carpet before and I tend not to do that. It was nice actually.’
The actor asked his other half to marry him in February during a screening for his film Yardie.
Rio Cinema confirmed the proposal on Twitter at the time, writing: Another first! Still 5 days to Valentines Day but went down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend live on stage this morning before a preview of his film.’
