The This Morning favourites couldn’t contain their giggles on the ITV programme yesterday when Phillip Schofield, 57, was forced to treat carefully when reading a tongue-twister link from the autocue. “She’s taken a break from tending her flocks to cook us a summer treat,” he said, with deliberate precision. “We’ll be in the kitchen with Yorkshire shepherdess Alison O’Neil.” Holly Willoughby, 38, started to laugh at the close shave her co-host had with saying a very rude word on the show.
Struggling to continue with what she was supposed to be saying, the presenter eventually succumbed to her giggle fit.
Covering her face with her hands, she apologised reportedly as Phillip also burst into laugher.
“Sorry, sorry, sorry,” she exclaimed. “It was ‘flock’ and ‘cook’ close together!”
“That’s about as dangerous as it’s got recently,” her long-time presenting partner wheezed, still trying and failing to compose himself.
The pair fell about on the sofa as he added: “It could’ve been anything!”
He later explained himself, quipping: “There comes a moment ever so often — because it’s a fast-moving show things change, things are written that you maybe haven’t seen before.
“Suddenly, something will appearing front of you that you’ve not seen before.
“And when it’s ‘flock’ and ‘cook’ side-by-side, you have to stop for just a second to make sure you don’t resign live on television!” he admitted, prompting more laughter from Holly.
On yesterday’s instalment of the show, Holly Willoughby wore a stunning £475 yellow dress by Beulah London.
Known for her stylish fashion choices, she showcased her slender curves in the pretty summery number, which cinched it at her waist with a golden yellow belt.
She completed the look with nude stiletto court shoes from Gianvito Rossi, which retail at £510.
Also on yesterday’s show, This Morning star Holly Willoughby struggled to hold it together over a sex segment.
The bizarre feature saw a guest bring her two female pugs, Nelly and Pugley, on to the sofa and explain how the dogs were in a lesbian relationship.
“These exhibit an intensity in the relationship that you would regard as a bonding, as a pairing,” she announced.
“In what way does that manifest itself, dare we ask?” Holly queried, looking amused.
The guest said the dogs lick each other’s faces and ears when they first wake up and have to sleep in close contact with each other.
“Then it progresses,” she added. “When things get very exciting during the day that may overspill into extra activities…”
“What sort of extra activities?” Phillip asked, sending Holly over the edge and she stifled a giggle.
“I can’t show you the video now,” the guest replied, causing Holly to lapse into laughter.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
