Holly Willoughby Instagram: This Morning star speaks out on ‘very special conversation’

Holly Willoughby was part of an interview “like never before” with 17-year-old Bodoor, who told her about her experiences as a child refugee living in Jordan. The This Morning presenter detailed their “very special conversation” on Instagram, sharing a clip with her 5.7 million followers yesterday. The 38-year-old chatted to the teenager, who fled Syria with her family aged five to escape conflict, via webcam before speaking out about what it made her realise. Alongside a video of what went on, the mother-of-three wrote: “We chatted about her memories of leaving home, the long walk across the border, and how she wants to be an astronaut when she’s older.”

Bodoor and her loved ones had to trek got over nine hours in intense heat to find the Azraq Refugee Camp, with her life changing drastically.

She dreams of being the first female Syrian in space and studies hard to make that dream come true.

“I felt so inspired after speaking with Bodoor,” Holly commented. “I’ve done a lot of interviews in my life, but that was one like never before.

“Hearing about her experience as a refugee gave me a real insight into what it’s like for children who’ve left their homes to escape conflict.”

She continued: “She told me how important the simple things are like having friendships and getting an education.

“I had to keep reminding myself that the girl I was talking to was only 17 because she had such a wise head on her shoulders.”

Holly said it made her realise how we can sometimes take things for granted in the UK and how important it is for every child to have an education.

The TV favourite and Garnier UK Ambassador also wrote on the picture-sharing app: “Unicef has been helping to ensure Bodoor’s education has not suffered while she’s been living in Azraq camp.

“This summer, @unicef_uk and @garnieruk are working together to help children in emergencies get the support they need to live, learn and play.

“Exclusively at Asda, Garnier will donate £1 for every product you buy with a Unicef sticker on. Each £1 donated will help children affected by war or disaster get the support they need to live, learn and play and you can learn more at https://www.garnier.co.uk/unicef #GanierSupportsUnicef.”

Meanwhile, Holly and her co-host Phillip Schofield are currently away from our screen on a summer break from This Morning.

Eamonn Holmes and wife Ruth Langsford are currently standing in for the duo Monday to Thursday.

Meanwhile, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are regularly shocked by what comes out of Gino D’Acampo’s mouth on the programme, and the chef has now revealed he gets issued a warning by the presenters.

The Italian star always leaves them in fits of giggles when he accidentally says words wrong or makes innuendos.

In an interview with Express.co.uk, he said this week: “They usually [give me a warning] when there’s a serious matter going on, a big political thing or something.”

Gino added: “I don’t always listen to them, only because I forget. I don’t always listen!”
