‘He looks like Charlie Heaton!’: Harry Styles debuts fringe during Italian getaway… but leaves fans divided with his new haircut
He first burst onto our screens as 16-year-old on The X Factor in 2010, becoming synonymous with his mop of curls and cheeky grin.
But Harry Styles has caused a fan frenzy this week after changing his hair, debuting a new fringe and a shorter, straighter crop in snaps taken during his trip to Italy.
The 25-year-old One Direction singer’s fandom was left divided when photos of his new hairdo emerged on Twitter, with some branding it his most radical ‘do to date.

However, some social media users were less impressed by the new hair, claiming Harry – who is expected to drop his second solo album this autumn – should change it back.
‘What did you do your hair’, one wrote, while another person likened him to Charlie Heaton’s character in Stranger Things, Jonathan Byers.
They asked: ‘what kind of jonathon byers looking a** type hair cut is this.. is harry styles okay? [sic]’.
Harry’s supporters were angered by the comments, insisting he is free to style his hair however he chooses.

Another shared: ‘today i learnt that people will genuinely unstan harry styles for styling his hair differently.. don’t let the door hit y’all on the way out luvs.’
Harry has been keeping a low profile of late as he works on his highly-anticipated second solo offering.

Shedding his boy band image for good, he admitted he takes psychedelics to assist the creative process when writing new music… and that he once bit off part of his tongue on magic mushrooms.
He told the September issue of the magazine: ‘We’d do mushrooms, lie down on the grass, and listen to Paul McCartney’s Ram in the sunshine.
‘We’d just turn the speakers into the yard. You’d hear the blender going, and think, “So we’re all having frozen margaritas at 10AM this morning”.
‘I was standing when we were doing mushrooms and I bit off the tip of my tongue. So I was trying to sing with all this blood gushing out of my mouth. Mushrooms and Blood. Now there’s an album title!’
And he was open about his second solo album, which is upcoming, and is about ‘having sex and feeling sad’.
