Gogglebox favourites give damning verdict on Love Island’s Tanya and Shaq

Gogglebox favourites Mica Ven and Marcus Luther have given their damning verdict on Love Island's Tanya Manhenga and Shaq Muhammad.

Mica and Marcus, who appeared on Gogglebox for five years before quitting in 2022, spoke exclusively to OK! on the red carpet at the Together for Short Lives charity ball hosted by Simon Cowell in London on Friday night.

Confessing that she is a big fan of Love Island, Mica said that she would like Jessie Wynter and Will Young to win the series, which is set to end on 13 March.

But Marcus then interjected, saying: "I want my man Shaq to leave that girl…" before Mica said: "Shaq and Tanya."

She went on: "I don't even want to talk about them," as Marcus said: "Shaq should just leave her [Tanya]."

Mica then said: "I was totally a fan, but then Tanya… I don't know… I don't know what she was thinking, returning from Casa Amor with Martin."

"What was that about?' she mused.

Marcus then joked to Mica: "Tanya must have that thing you've got going on, that kryptonite, because I keep running back to you," as Mica threw back her head and laughed.

Tanya and Shaq were some of the original Islanders on this year's winter series of the show.

They got together immediately and said "I love you" barely more than a week in to the series, before confessing to having sex in the Hideaway.

But their relationship was rocked buy a string of rows, and Tanya was intent on getting to know newcomer Martin in Casa Amor.

She returned to the main villa with him, leaving Shaq, who had remained single to await Tanya, devastated.

However, Tanya soon made a public declaration of her love for Shaq and Martin was dumped from the villa soon after.

Since announcing their departure from Gogglebox in December of last year, it seems that Marcus and Mica have some exciting projects in the pipeline, although they're remaining tightly-lipped on what exactly it is yet.

The stars revealed that they never see any of the other families from the popular Channel 4 show, and they put it down to geography.

Marcus said: "A lot of people live far so you never really meet anyone because everyone is in different parts of the country."

He went on: "The thing about Gogglebox is that you live a normal life. We're just regular people."

Mica also had a cheeky confession about what she and Marcus were getting up to since leaving the show, as she joked that she and Marcus were "having more sex because we're not working as much."
