Frank Fritz won't return to American Pickers according to Mike Wolfe

Frank Fritz will NOT come back to American Pickers … according to the show’s Mike Wolfe

Frank Fritz is not coming back to the History Channel series American Pickers, according to the show’s Mike Wolfe.

‘I will miss Frank, just like all of you,’ Wolfe, 57, told TMZ Wednesday, ‘and I pray for the very best and all good things for him on the next part of his journey.

‘The journey that Frank, Dani and I started back in 2009, like all of life, has come with its highs and lows, blessings and challenges, but it has also been the most rewarding.’

The latest: Frank Fritz, 55, is not coming back to the History Channel series American Pickers, according to the show’s Mike Wolfe, 57. Fritz was snapped in NYC in 2015

Production insiders told TMZ that Fritz, 55, who was last seen on the series in March of 2020, will not make a return after leaving the show last year as a number of health issues piled up, including a back injury that required surgery and an ongoing battle with Crohn’s disease.

Fritz told The Sun Monday that he felt the weight loss ‘was a big thing about coming back to the show,’ asking, ‘How can I come back to the show 65 pounds lighter?

‘I would like to come back to the show, but we will see. I was doing it for 11 years, but there is a lot of controversy going on right now.’

He continued: ‘It’s up to the network whether I come back on the show. It ain’t gonna affect me one bit. I didn’t leave the show, I finished shooting and then I had a little back surgery and the pandemic came.’

Details: Tension between Fritz and Wolfe, seen in NYC in 2010, was not the reason Fritz left, but rather to address his ailments

Silence: The Davenport, Iowa said he hasn’t talked to Wolfe in the past two years

Tension between Fritz and Wolfe was not the reason Fritz left, sources told TMZ, but rather to address his ailments.

The Davenport, Iowa native left the series to deal with the health issues, and said he hasn’t talked to Wolfe in the past two years, and that Wolfe never reached out to him after undergoing surgery, TMZ reported.

In speaking with The Sun, Fritz said he’s shed more than 65 pounds amid a renewed focus on nutrition and an exercise regimen.

‘The weight loss is me watching what I’m eating so I can keep my disease under control the best I can,’ he said. ‘I’m just eating healthy. After a while I started watching what I’m doing and I’m doing a little bit more walking. I keep pretty busy around here too, taking care of the grass and getting rid of the weeds.’

Fritz told The Sun that abstaining from alcohol has also been a positive health factor.

‘Not drinking helps with the weight loss because when you drink you eat,’ he said. ‘I’m not dieting. I was drinking a little bit too, but that didn’t work out either. I haven’t had a drink in almost nine, ten months. It would have been a year but I had one slip up, it was maybe for four hours, but it was enough.’

Producers of the show have been content to let Wolfe helm the show on own after Fritz intimated he would like to come back, sources told TMZ.
