Ellie Goulding reveals she was once forced to wear shorts with a ‘poo trap door’ at Coachella while suffering from stomach bug and relieved herself in Kings Of Leon’s cat litter tray
Ellie Goulding has revealed that she once performed at Coachella wearing shorts with a ‘poo trap door’ after taking to the stage with a stomach bug.
The hit-maker, 34, discussed the incident during an appearance on episode two of the revamped series of Never Mind The Buzzcocks, telling host Greg Davies: ‘The last time I played Coachella, I had a stomach bug. I thought that something could happen downstairs.’
Ellie added: ‘It just so happened a band, I think it was Kings of Leon, I can’t remember – they had a cat litter which they used to pee in with other humans.’
Quite the confession: Ellie Goulding, 34, has revealed that she once performed at Coachella with a ‘poo trap door’ sewn into her outfit after taking to the stage with a stomach bug
When probed by Greg, 53, whether she had used the cat litter to relieve herself, Ellie seemingly confirmed she had with a smirk and giggle.
Ellie’s confession came after Greg asked Ellie’s team – which also included Yungblud, Tom Grennan and regular panellist Jamali Maddix – whether anyone had ever injured themselves on stage.
Addressing Ellie, Greg said: ‘I guess you don’t want to talk about what happened on stage at Coachella.’
Ellie responded: ‘It wasn’t really an accident – it could have been an accident.’

Comedian Jamali then chimed in: ‘You thought you were going to s**t yourself?’ to which Ellie admitted: ‘Well yes.’
She added: ‘There was talk about me wearing an adult [nappy].’
Keen to get more information out of her, Greg said he had heard a different version of events from the show’s researchers.
Greg told the audience he had been told that Ellie was so worried she might ‘s**t herself’ that she was forced to have a ‘s**t trapdoor’ built into her outfit.
Ellie clarified: ‘I was wearing leather shorts – look it’s not going to go anywhere!’ (pictured performing at Coachella in 2014)
Ellie clarified: ‘I was wearing leather shorts – look it’s not going to go anywhere!’
She went on: ‘It’s not going to soak up in the leather – it’s just going to come out. So it just so happened to be the design included a zip all the way around so I could just run off and…’
Greg then interrupted Ellie, saying: ‘So you did have a poo trap door?’
Ellie hilariously replied: ‘Fine, I had a poo trap door.’
She then explained Kings Of Leon offered to let her use their cat litter, telling the panel: ‘But, it just so happened a band, I think it was Kings of Leon, I can’t remember – they had a cat litter which they used to pee in with other humans.’
Fan: A long-time fan of the show, when it was axed by BBC in 2015, Ellie tweeted: ‘Can’t believe Never Mind the Buzzcocks is ending’
After pushing Ellie to admit she had relieved herself in the cat litter, Greg was met with a smirk and laugh from the Burn singer, declaring: ‘Ellie Goulding uses a cat litter tray. Let’s get that trending online.’
Never Mind the Buzzcocks made its Sky Max debut earlier this month, returning to TV for the first time since 2014 when it was laid to rest by the BBC.
