Mandy Moore‘s “Candy” pop star days are now the inspiration for an upcoming TV series!
The 35-year-old This Is Us actress and “When I Wasn’t Watching” singer-songwriter’s early music career now serves as the inspiration for a new series currently called 90′s Popstar, Variety reported on Friday (October 11).
Mandy will co-executive produce the series alongside writer Amanda Lasher and This Is Us showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger.
Marc Webb is attached to executive produce and direct.
In the series, a family from small town Florida must adapt to their extraordinary new reality when their teenage daughter goes from aspiring singer to pop superstar practically overnight.
Mandy first debuted as a pop star with her hit single “Candy” back in August of 1999, followed by the release of her debut studio album So Real in December of that year, featuring “Walk Me Home” and “So Real.”
