Escape To The Chateau stars Angel and Dick Strawbridge have revealed that they’ve reunited with a Channel 4 cameraman whom they count among their “nearest and dearest”.
The famous couple revealed the details as they took to their newsletter to talk about their book Forever Home, which they are touring the UK to promote, ahead of its release date tomorrow.
“It’s been quite some week and it’s only just the start!” the pair began, before going on to reveal that they were “seeing some of our nearest and dearest” as part of the tour.
“Reunited with Jonathan our camera man and series director, and cousins Sarah and Isaac,” they enthused, before attaching a picture of Jonathan with their two kids Arthur and Dorothy.
Jonathan describes himself on the Talent Manager website as an experienced self-shooting producer-director, with “a diverse range of broadcast credits”.

His bio reads: “[I have] over 15 years extensive shooting experience, having filmed in over 30 different countries including UK, Europe, USA, Africa, Asia, The Middle East and further afield.”
Shows he’s worked on include BBC One’s The Traitors, which is presented by Strictly Come Dancing’s Claudia Winkleman, Squid Games: The Challenge, Celebs Go Dating, Shipwrecked, and Antiques Roadshow.
Jonathan explained in the bio that he’s accustomed to dealing with “demanding contributors”, although he didn’t agree that Angel and Dick fit into that category.
Channel 4 severed ties with Angel and Dick following allegations of clashes with producers, and an independent investigation was ordered to examine the couple’s “conduct”, which included reports of the pair swearing at members of their team.

A Channel 4 spokeswoman confirmed: “Following a review, we have taken the decision not to work with Dick and Angel on any new productions in the future”, while the Two Rivers production company echoed their comment.
However, the couple produced their own statement insisting that there are “two sides to every story” and claiming that it had been their decision to end the business partnership.
Meanwhile, Jonathan personally had no concerns about the couple, describing them as “warm and welcoming” in an interview with Deadline.
“Château de la Motte-Husson is primarily a family home, and since the day I arrived, I have treated the Strawbridges with a level of respect that has always been reciprocated,” he is quoted as saying.
“Although the location of much filming, the chateau is not a normal film set. Allowances must be taken into account for the fact that Dick and Angel run not only a busy events company, but have three generations of family living together.”

Channel 4’s decision to part ways with the popular couple, who gained an average of three million viewers per episode last year, shocked many who had loved following along with Angel and Dick’s rags-to-riches success story.
The pair moved from a cramped flat in Southend-on-Sea to Dick’s home country of France, and proceeded to lovingly renovate a dilapidated chateau until it became an impressive family home.
Dick was often seen doing hands-on DIY work during the show, and the chateau went on to become a popular spot for “elegant vintage weddings” and extra-special events.
Though their relationship with Channel 4 has drawn to a close, the pair are now embarking on their biggest theatre tour ever, with the UK leg running until November 17, ending in Brighton.
