Former Doctor Who actor David Tennant who had previously dated three show colleagues settled down with Georgia Moffett in December 2011. Mr Tennant and Miss Mofett met on the set of Doctor Who when they starred in an episode together. But a social media post from the 34-year-old has revealed there is a deeper family connection that helped bring the adorable couple together. So how did a family relationship help to get these two together?
Who are David Tennant and Georgia Moffett?
David Tennant, 47, is a Scottish and voice actor that is best known for his roles as DI Alec Hardy in ITV’s Broadchurch and the tenth Doctor in BBC’s Doctor Who.
His wife Georgia Moffett, 34, is also an up and coming actress, whose previous credits include: Where The Heart Is and The Bill.
They met when they both starred in the Doctor Who episode “The Doctor’s Daughter”, in which she played her future husband’s character’s genetically engineered daughter.
The couple married in December 2011 and have four children together, including a Ms Moffett’s child from a previous relationship.
Their children are: Olive, seven, Wilfred, five, and Doris, three, together, while David adopted Georgia’s 16-year-old son Ty when they married.
It was announced on May 23 that the couple are expecting their fifth child.
But now it has now been revealed that the couple were not simply introduced whilst working on the Doctor Who set, there was a family connection that helped to engineer the situation.
Mr Tennant could be seen standing beside his father-in-law, looking up as the latter took his time to fix the broken lamp.
Great pun: Georgia took to Twitter to joke about how David was standing by as Peter tried to fix the broken bulb, as she found the whole situation hilarious.
David and Peter appeared on screen together as the fifth and tenth incarnations of the time-travelling alien in the 2007 mini-episode Time Crash, which aired as part of Children In Need.
Jodie Whittaker currently plays the 13th incarnation of the Doctor, replacing Peter Capaldi in 2018.
The actress, 36, made history when she became the first female Time Lord to be seen on the show, and her debut scored the highest ratings for The Woman Who Fell To Earth with 8.2 million tuning in.
David Tennant is due to appear on the Graham Norton Show tonight with Michael Sheen where they will be discussing their latest performance in Good Omens.
