Dancing On Ice judge John Barrowman has appeared to make a dig at Faye Brookes ahead of the live final on Sunday night.

The performer, who lives in a lavish Palm Springs mansion with husband Scott Gill, said the competition is harder for male skaters because they have to learn how to do lifts.

The 54 year old explained that because Faye, 33, and other female skaters are being lifted by the professional skaters, they end up doing less skating.

Speaking to The Sun, the Doctor Who star said: "It's difficult for the male skaters.

"They not only have to learn how to skate but have to learn how to lift and do spectacular lifts in order to impress.

"The female skaters, having learned how to skate, get lifted and don't spend a lot of time on the ice because the lifts are so spectacular.

"We need to make sure there is a balance so it's not Faye up in the air all the time being spun around because there is no skating there," he expressed.

Faye is joined by fellow celebrities Sonny Jay and Colin Jackson in the final, after Lady Leshurr missed out on a spot and went home last week.

ITV previously announced the skating competition show would be cut short by a week after seven stars had to drop out of the show.

On 26 February, an ITV spokesperson said in a statement: "ITV have taken the decision to move the final of Dancing On Ice forward by one week.

"The competition's final will now take place on Sunday 14th March. Our production team and cast have delivered a fantastic show during incredibly challenging times.

"Continuing to make the best TV for our viewers is our top priority and we look forward to the rest of this series, on air from this Sunday at 6pm," the statement concluded at the time.
