Cynthia Erivo gave an incredible performance for a Fourth of July performance!
The 33-year-old Oscar-nominated actress performed a cover of the song “Summertime” from the Broadway musical Porgy and Bess. The show was most recently on Broadway in 2012 with Audra McDonald as Bess.
Cynthia‘s performance was part of her appearance at the 2020 Wawa Welcome America July 4th Concert at The Met Philadelphia.
Earlier in the weekend, Cynthia took to Instagram to celebrate another show… Hamilton. The full musical is now streaming on Disney+!
Cynthia wrote, “It moves me to see everyone giving Hamilton its flowers. Let’s be clear, it’s more than just a great musical. Its brilliance comes from every single brilliant person involved. From the beautiful @arianadebose who plays the bullet, to the big bro @leslieodomjr as the elegant Burr, love is the energy that changed Broadway and ultimately the world.
