Strictly: Craig gets emotional after Ellie’s ‘flawless’ performance
Craig Revel Horwood appeared “wiped out” in the Strictly Come Dancing 2023 final, according to a body language expert. The show’s judge was a long way from his usual deadpan self as the show concluded last night, and he fought back tears while speaking to eventual winner Ellie Leach.
The 58-year-old’s moving appearance sparked fears that he could be leaving the programme, with viewers speculating online. Looking closely at his body language, Darren Stanton claims the star was “masking some sort of deeper sadness or upset”.
Remarking on how “rare” it is to see Craig so upset, he suggested there was “something very special” about this series for him.”[Craig] seemed exhausted,” he stated. “He looked wiped out and completely overwhelmed.”
He continued to Betfair Roulette: “I definitely believe Craig was masking some sort of deeper sadness or upset. While he didn’t hide his tears, he tried to pull himself back from getting too upset.”[Motsi Mabuse] could see how genuinely affected he was by the emotion… It’s very rare that we see this man cry.”
Darren went on: “There is something very special about this year to him, whatever that may be.” He then discussed how he got “emotional” over Ellie and Vito Coppola’s final turn on the dancefloor.

The expert added: “He was making lots of gestures and showed sadness in his face. Not sadness in terms of being negative, but just genuine emotion.”
Strictly fans were left worried that this could be Craig’s final ever season.
He has been a Strictly judge since it first began back in 2004.
However, after Craig’s poignant speech, many thought he could be bowing out from his role.
