Coronation Street SPOILER: Kym Marsh’s character Michelle breaks down in tears as fiancé Robert is accused of murdering his mistress in tense wedding scenes ahead of exit
She’s set to leave her role as restaurant co-owner Michelle Connor in the coming weeks, following 13 years on Coronation Street.
And Kym Marsh pulled out all the stops to bid farewell to her character as she breaks down in tears during her wedding while her fiancé Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) is accused of murdering his mistress Vicky Jefferies (Kerri Quinn).
In scenes set to air on Wednesday’s episode, the actress, 43, is overwhelmed with emotion as she runs from the altar just moments after confronting her lying partner in scenes filmed earlier in the year.

It was just a few weeks ago when Kym discovered Vicky and Robert’s affair, with her partner insisting their dalliance was over.
In a bid to brush aside the drama, the feisty character banned Vicki from attending their wedding after she interrupted their pre-nuptial celebration.
However, the cobbles are left confused as Vicki mysteriously disappeared, with her son Tyler (Will Barnett) now putting blame on love rat Robert.
Michelle was previously unaware that Robert is leading a double life as he was also engaged to his secret lover Vicky Jefferies, who is pregnant with his baby.

Both women believed they were the only love in Robert’s life and left each of them to believe he was away on business when not with them.
Michelle’s ex-husband Steve McDonald, played by Simon Gregson, is among the guests at their special day, as well as her two sons – biological son Ali and mixed-up-at-birth son Ryan.
Plus a whole host of Connors are in attendance, with Carla, played by Alison King, and Maria, portrayed by Samia Longchambon, pictured on set during filming.

Ahead of her soap departure, Kym revealed she hopes to spend more time with her hunky army boyfriend Scott Ratcliffe, who is currently on tour in the Middle East.
She admitted she’s laden with ‘anxiety’ each time she can’t get in touch with Scott, 28, who is a major in the Parachute Regiment.

What will happen? It is unclear whether the pair tie the knot before Robert is met with accusations
In an interview with The Sun, Kym said of Scott: ‘There is always anxiety, it is always stressful when he goes away. There may not be an actual war threat currently but there’s always a risk when you’re in these dangerous places.
‘And it can be extra worrying when you aren’t able to communicate for periods of time. If he’s on a base he can get in touch, but there are times when he is out on exercises and I don’t hear from him for three weeks because there is just no signal…
‘He always says that it’s the families at home who are the brave ones — they just don’t see themselves as brave at all. But it won’t be easy watching him go away, and I will worry until I see him again.’
